Product: VDOGEN is an AI video editor that edits video through its transcript rather than a timeline.
Transcription: Its automatic captions use Whisper and include word-level timing and speaker detection.
Translation: It supports AI translation to more than 20 languages and can show original and translated captions together.
Transcript editing: Users can delete words, sentences, or blocks from the transcript to recompile the video with smart cuts.
Cleanup: The editor can detect silence and remove filler words such as “um,” “uh,” and “basically.”
AI generation: Features include AI image generation, voice-over, background music, sound effects, talking avatars, and script-to-video.
Exports: It exports captions as SRT, VTT, plain text, or FCPXML, and can export video as MOV or MP4.
Presets: Platform presets are listed for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram Feed.
Local processing: The site says FFmpeg runs on the user’s infrastructure and video files do not leave the machine unless the user chooses to export.
API keys: The site says users can bring their own OpenAI and fal.ai API keys, which remain in their environment and are not stored by VDOGEN.
Supported inputs: The workflow page lists MP4, MOV, MP3, and WAV as supported upload formats.
Intended users: The site describes workflows for solo creators, marketing teams, and education teams.
