Tagger for Resolve

What Tagger for Resolve is
Tagger for Resolve is a macOS and Windows application that analyzes footage with AI and writes organization data into DaVinci Resolve’s Media Pool. It samples frames, reads visible text and logos, identifies subjects, classifies shots, and adds keywords, descriptions, shot types and scene information to standard Resolve columns. Keyword bins can be used with Smart Bins. Whisper transcribes spoken audio locally, places transcripts in Resolve’s Comments field and adds speech keywords. Listed formats include ProRes, BRAW, H.264, H.265, DNxHR, XAVC, CinemaDNG and MXF, plus formats Resolve can import. Tagger requires DaVinci Resolve Studio because the free edition lacks the needed scripting API. Selected frame images are sent over HTTPS to Tagger’s server and then Anthropic; Tagger says it does not store video files, while audio transcription runs locally. The free plan includes 20 files. Pro is listed at $99 a month as a one-time purchase with no recurring charges and unlimited files.

Verdict
Tagger for Resolve focuses on automated visual and speech metadata inside Resolve. Its local transcription and one-time Pro licensing are useful, but Studio is required and selected frame images leave the device for analysis.
