What RentMouse is

RentMouse is property management software for independent landlords who manage rentals in Canada and the United States. It helps landlords track rent invoices, recorded and partial payments, balances, overdue rent, and reminders. Tenants continue paying landlords the way they already do: RentMouse does not collect rent, but provides a ledger and payment status information.

The software includes jurisdiction-aware lease templates, electronic signing, and an audit trail stored with the tenancy record. Landlords can track maintenance requests with photos, priorities, vendors, scheduled dates, status, and costs linked to a unit. They can also publish a branded landlord page with vacant-unit listings, spam-protected inquiries, and tenant sign-in. A tenant portal is available, and payment reminders are supported. RentMouse is web-based and offers plans for different portfolio sizes: Starter covers up to one property and one unit, Landlord covers up to ten properties and 25 units, and Portfolio allows unlimited properties and units. Plan prices are not provided here. RentMouse’s privacy policy says data in transit uses TLS 1.3, stored data uses AES-256 encryption, and passwords are hashed with bcrypt. It identifies Stripe as its payment card processor and says card details are tokenized rather than stored directly on RentMouse servers.

Its ledger and reminders support rent administration, but tenants still pay landlords directly. Consider another option if you need the software itself to collect rent.
