Pontius combines Pontius Desk, a native email app, with a command-line tool for AI-assisted email management. It provides inbox triage, AI reply drafting, automatic sending, and follow-up actions for Gmail, while also connecting to IMAP/SMTP providers such as Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail, ProtonMail via Bridge, Zoho, Yahoo, and self-hosted servers. Features include a persistent knowledge base, plain-language search, attachments, invoicing, aliases, and one-click unsubscribe. Pontius works with terminal-capable assistants including Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, and local models. Email, configuration, contacts, drafts, and the knowledge base are stored locally. Passwords use the operating-system keychain, and cross-device sync data is encrypted with AES-256 before leaving the device. Pontius Desk runs on macOS and Windows; the CLI supports Linux, while a Linux desktop app is planned. A free tryout allows reading email and testing the CLI, but sending, replying, and sync require a license. The Lifetime License costs 99.00 USD per once.
