The record

Purpose: mitlist helps people who live together organize shared lists, rotating chores, expenses and settlements, recipes and meal plans, a pinwall, and a calendar.
Lists: Household members can shop together in real time, claim list items, remember prices, and sort a shopping trip around the store.
Expense splitting: Expenses can be split equally, by shares, percentages, or exact amounts.
Meal planning: Users can save recipes, plan the week, adjust servings, and send recipe ingredients to a shopping list.
Mobile scanning: During public beta, iOS and Android users can scan printed or handwritten grocery lists; text recognition and grocery matching run on the device.
Offline use: The app caches household information and queues many edits when the connection drops, while offline coverage is still being improved.
Self-hosting: The complete AGPL-3.0 product can be self-hosted with PostgreSQL and an S3-compatible object store, and storage quotas can be configured or disabled.
Privacy: The privacy statement says mitlist collects no usage analytics, behavioral data, or phone-home telemetry by default; self-hosted instances do not send household content or telemetry to the project.
Integrations: The privacy statement lists optional operator-configured services including Resend, SendGrid or Brevo SMTP, Firebase/FCM, Cloudflare Turnstile, Web Push, AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2, and an FX rate feed.
Data controls: Users can use guest mode without an email address, export expenses as CSV or JSON, and delete their account and data from the operator's server.
Security reporting: Vulnerability reports are handled privately, with best-effort response times during public beta and coordinated disclosure after a fix is available.
Beta status: mitlist is in public beta; Android testing is through Google Play and iOS testing is through TestFlight invitations.
Maker and location: The legal notice identifies the provider as Abdelhalim Ahmed - tropicalthink, at an address in Marburg, Germany.
Headquarters: Marburg, Germany
