Keyora

What Keyora is
Keyora is a free, open-source, offline-first password manager for macOS, iOS, and Android. Vault data stays on the device in a SQLCipher-encrypted database, with additional XChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption for secret fields. The project describes no server, account, or telemetry. Its working MVP includes password records, search, tags, favorites, change history, a trash area, and a password generator. Unlocking supports a master password or PIN; Apple devices can use Face ID or Touch ID, and Android supports biometrics. Automatic locking can occur after inactivity or when the app moves to the background. On supported platforms, clipboard cleanup checks the copied value’s hash before clearing it, but Android clipboard auto-clear is unavailable. Encryption keys remain in the Rust process, while secrets use the platform Keychain or Android Keystore. Import and export, TOTP, and synchronization are post-MVP work. Windows and Linux are outside the intended scope.
Who it suits
Keyora suits people wanting a local, offline-first vault on Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android without an account or telemetry. It is less suited to users needing synchronization, sharing, TOTP, or Windows and Linux support.
What it does well
- Free and MIT-licensed source code
- No server, account, or telemetry
- Encrypted local vault storage
- Biometric unlock options
- Automatic locking after inactivity
What to know first
- No synchronization yet
- No import, export, or TOTP
- Android lacks clipboard auto-clear
- Windows and Linux are outside scope
Verdict
Keyora focuses on local encrypted password storage across Apple and Android devices. Its current MVP leaves synchronization and several common password-manager functions for later work.
