J. J. Keller Encompass ELD provides U.S. and Canadian hours-of-service compliance for fleets required to use electronic logs. Its VT100 hardware connects to the mobile app over Bluetooth Low Energy and sends engine and vehicle data to the Encompass platform, including when a driver’s device is offline. The system supports multiple rulesets, alerts for approaching hours-of-service limits, team driving, border crossing, personal conveyance, and yard moves. Integrated electronic driver vehicle inspection reports allow customized criteria, defect-resolution workflows, and smartphone photos of defects. Fleet features include vehicle tracking and engine fault code monitoring, with geofencing and driver behavior tracking available as options. The maker says its ELD solutions comply with the U.S. ELD mandate and include DOT driver and vehicle compliance recordkeeping at no additional cost. Drivers can use their own iPhone or Android device, or an Android Compliance Tablet with the app preloaded. Encompass APIs can share employee, driver-log, unit, GPS, performance-event, hours-of-service, and other data.
