Goodnight Journal

What Goodnight Journal is

Goodnight Journal is an online journaling service where people can keep private writing, publish public journal entries, and connect with other writers. It is available on the web, Android, and iOS. Entries are private by default, and writers can choose whether each one is private or public. The service allows unlimited private journals on its free plan, with up to three journal books for organizing them. Free members can read and like public journals, while publishing public journals and commenting require the Member plan. Member costs $5.99 a month, billed monthly, and raises the book limit to 30. It also includes journal backups, autosaved drafts, and the ability to change a journal’s date and time. Writing prompts are available through Happy and the journal page; the Android and iOS apps can send automatic reminders. Registration requires an email address. The site identifies Allspectives LLC as the company behind the service and says it launched on January 1, 2013. Its FAQ says private journals are protected using Amazon Web Services technology, while the privacy policy cautions that absolute security cannot be guaranteed. The service is not intended for children under 13.
