What EGDR808 is

EGDR808 is a drum machine from Elliott Garage with an interface inspired by 1980s hardware. It runs on Android and iOS, with a 16-step sequencer, 12 programmable rhythm patterns and four fill patterns for building rhythms. Auto-fill can insert a fill after every 2, 4, 8, 12 or 16 patterns. Manual Play, Pattern Write and Pattern Clear modes provide controls for working with patterns, while tuning, decay and snappy parameters let you adjust individual drumkit pieces.

Some features are specific to iOS. Song Mode opens with a left swipe, and iOS also includes swing and tap tempo. Its listed integrations include Ableton Link, AU3 AudioUnit, Audiobus and Interapp. The app can receive MIDI clock and MIDI notes. On iOS, patterns can be exported through iTunes, email or MAPI Audio Copy. Elliott Garage provides separate manuals for iOS and Android and welcomes questions at [email protected].
