XO

What XO is

XO is a drum sample instrument and organizer for macOS and Windows, available as a plugin or standalone app. It groups samples by sonic similarity so you can explore sounds and rhythms rather than search through folders. Its library contains more than 8,700 one-shot samples and more than 240 editable beat presets. XO can organize samples across storage locations, including duplicates and files on external drives, with filters and search to narrow the options. For sequencing, it provides Groove Templates, pattern nudging and an Accentuator for changing beat feel and dynamics. You can export samples, kits, stems or complete beats as audio or MIDI, raw or processed. XO supports VST, VST3, AU and AAX hosts, and includes sample import, MIDI support, live performance tools and eight pattern tracks. Plans cost £76.20, paid once for XO, £95.40, paid once for XO plus four expansions, or £399.50, paid once for XO Complete with all 33 expansions. A 10-day full-feature trial is available without payment details.
