Alibaba Cloud VPN Gateway carries encrypted traffic over the Internet between Alibaba Cloud VPCs and enterprise data centers, office networks or Internet platforms. It supports site-to-site networking and hybrid cloud connections through IPsec, IKE and SSL VPN. Administrators can use a visual console, API or SDK, and listed integrations include ECS, VPC, NAT Gateway, RDS and SLB. IPsec-VPN and SSL-VPN encrypt data in transit; SSL-VPN offers AES-128-CBC, AES-192-CBC and AES-256-CBC, with AES-128-CBC as the default. Alibaba Cloud describes hot-standby failover in less than a few seconds, session continuity and zero service downtime. The default quota is up to 30 gateway instances across regions per account, with 10 IPsec-VPN connections per gateway. Standard gateway bandwidth is up to 1,000 Mbps total inbound and outbound, or 500 Mbps in some regions. Pricing is paid and billing depends on configuration. Listed Chinese mainland options include a 10 Mbps connection at $0.06 a month and a five-client SSL specification at $0.05 a month. Under China’s laws and regulations, the product cannot be used as an Internet access service.
