Amazon’s reported $399 deal is for Apple’s 2025 11-inch iPad with A16, in the 128GB Wi-Fi configuration—not an iPad Air, mini, or Pro. Tom’s Guide reported the price on October 5, and Macworld listed it on October 7, 2026, as $50 below the stated $449 price. The reports place the offer in the October 6–7 Prime Big Deal Days window, so check Amazon’s listing for the current price and availability before buying.
Which iPad is on sale?

Apple lists the standard iPad with an 11-inch-class Liquid Retina display, an A16 chip, and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The reported $399 deal is specifically for 128GB Wi-Fi; it does not establish the price of the larger-capacity or cellular versions. Apple’s iPad technical specifications give the following hardware details:

Is 128GB enough, and should you wait?
Choose based on how you use a tablet, not just the discount. 128GB may suit browsing, streaming, video calls, and a modest set of downloaded apps and files. If you expect to keep large games, offline video, or substantial creative projects on the iPad, compare the checkout price of the 256GB and 512GB versions before deciding; the $399 report does not apply to those capacities.

If this exact 128GB Wi-Fi model fits your needs and Amazon still shows $399, the reported $50 saving is a straightforward reason to buy now rather than wait for an unspecified future sale. If you are considering a different iPad or configuration, compare the live price and features rather than assuming the deal makes every model a good value. Apple’s lineup includes the standard iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro; Macworld characterizes the standard model as the value choice and the mini as the portability choice. No future release or price is established by the deal reports.
What comes in the box, and what about Apple Pencil?
Apple lists the iPad, a one-meter USB-C charge cable, and a 20W USB-C power adapter in the box. The tablet supports Apple Pencil (USB-C) and Apple Pencil (1st generation), but neither is listed as included. Apple says the first-generation Pencil needs a USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter for pairing and charging. Treat either Pencil as a separate purchase, and verify compatibility before choosing a keyboard or case: the available product information does not establish compatibility for a specific accessory model.
