Deal publications differ slightly in reported prices and configuration details: 9to5Mac rounded the offers to $350 and $400 for GPS models and also reported GPS + Cellular at $450 for 42mm and $500 for 46mm. Which Series 12 configuration should you consider?
Choose 42mm GPS if you want the lower tracked price
At the tracker’s October 6 price of $349, the 42mm GPS model costs $50 less than the 46mm GPS. Compare how each case fits your wrist and how readable the display feels in person if possible; the deal figures do not establish that either size is the better fit for every buyer.
Choose 46mm GPS if you prefer the larger case
The 46mm GPS model was listed at $399 in Macworld’s tracker. Its larger case costs $50 more than the 42mm at the reported sale prices. Both figures refer to GPS models, not GPS + Cellular.

Check carefully before choosing GPS + Cellular
The $349 and $399 Macworld prices apply to GPS configurations. 9to5Mac separately reported GPS + Cellular offers of $450 for 42mm and $500 for 46mm, against regular prices of $500 and $550. Those are that publication’s October 6 snapshot, not a confirmation that the same offers are live now. Check the listing and the carrier and service-plan requirements that apply to you before paying extra for cellular connectivity.
What Apple says the Series 12 offers
Apple lists the Series 12 in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, with aluminum, titanium, or ceramic case options. Its product page advertises a Health Sensing System, Ceramic Shield 2 on aluminum cases, and WR 50M and IP6X ratings. Apple describes the Health Sensing System as using redesigned optical and electrical sensors; it says the watch measures heart-rate variability as often as every five minutes and takes background heart-rate readings every five seconds. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test results.

Apple’s stated battery figures are “up to 24 hours of normal use” and up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Actual battery life depends on use and settings; “up to” is Apple’s estimate, not a guarantee for every wearer.

If price matters more than having the Series 12’s cited features, compare the current total price and feature set of the Series 11 and the lower-cost SE 3 before choosing. The available deal reports do not establish their current prices, so there is no sound basis here to declare either one a better-value purchase today. Decide which features matter to you, then compare like-for-like case size and connectivity rather than comparing a GPS Series 12 price with a Cellular alternative.
