Apple TV+ subscribers can download eligible shows for offline viewing on supported phones, tablets, and computers, share the subscription through Family Sharing, and cancel through the company that bills them. Downloads are not permanent, and Apple TV hardware and televisions stream rather than download Apple TV+ titles.
Can you download Apple TV+ shows to watch offline?
Yes. In the Apple TV app, open an eligible show, movie, or event and select the Download button. Find saved items under Library > Downloaded. On iPhone and iPad, you can download a season or select individual episodes; Mac and PC have download options in their respective Apple TV apps. Apple also lists Vision Pro as a supported device. Apple documents downloads on supported iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, and Vision Pro devices. Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, smart TVs, other streaming devices, and tv.apple.com are streaming-only: they do not download Apple TV+ content for offline playback.

Download expiry and limits
Offline downloads are access to subscription content, not permanent purchases. For some Apple TV subscription titles, a download expires 48 hours after playback begins or 30 days after it was downloaded, whichever comes first. Apple may also limit how many subscription titles you can download at once. The cited guidance does not establish how long a downloaded title remains available after the subscription ends.

If a Download button is missing, the title may be subject to download limits, or the relevant Apple TV channel may not allow downloads. Apple says most Apple TV channels allow downloads for up to 30 days, though some expire sooner; channel rules are separate from Apple TV subscription rules.
How many devices can stream at once?
Apple says most Apple TV subscription content supports six simultaneous streams, though some titles allow fewer. For Apple TV channels, the usual limit is up to three simultaneous streams, with variation by channel. These are streaming limits, not download limits.

Can you share Apple TV+ with family?
Yes. Apple says eligible subscriptions, including Apple TV, can be shared with up to five other family members through Family Sharing—up to six people total when the organizer is included. Each member uses their own Apple Account and gets personalized preferences and recommendations. Apple notes that some subscriptions share automatically while others require setup. Apple’s Apple TV user guide for tvOS 27 says Apple TV subscriptions, Apple TV channels, and Apple One can be shared with up to five other family members. If someone joins a family group that already has a subscription, they may use the group subscription instead of having their own subscription renewed at its next billing date.

How do you cancel an Apple TV+ subscription?
Cancel through the provider that bills you. If Apple bills the subscription, you can use the Apple TV website or your device’s subscription settings. Apple’s Apple TV cancellation instructions give this web route:
- Go to tv.apple.com and sign in if prompted.
- Open the account icon, choose Settings, then go to Subscriptions and select Manage.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.

If Google Play or Amazon bills you
For a subscription billed through Google Play, cancel in the Apple TV app on Android or at play.google.com. If Amazon bills you, cancel through Amazon. When a subscription is missing from your Apple Account, check the receipt and your bank or card statement to identify the account or company handling billing; subscriptions billed by another company must be canceled with that provider.

If you are on a free trial
If you do not want a trial to renew, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The exact point when paid access ends after cancellation is not established as a universal rule across all regions and billing arrangements, so check the confirmation and account details for your subscription.
Does watching on a TV require an Apple TV device?
No. Apple TV 4K is one way to watch, but it is not required: compatible smart TVs and other streaming devices can run the Apple TV app. Choose a device based on what you already own and the ecosystem you prefer. If you need offline downloads, use a supported phone, tablet, computer, or Vision Pro instead, because television-class devices stream rather than download Apple TV+ titles.
