Apple Sports provides live tennis scores, statistics and point-by-point tracking for men’s and women’s singles at Grand Slam and 1000-level tournaments. Tennis support launched on June 25, 2025, beginning with Wimbledon. You can follow a tournament or individual match, receive updates through the app, and—on compatible software—put live scores on your iPhone Lock Screen or Apple Watch. Apple Sports does not include a tennis streaming subscription; when viewing is available, it hands you off to Apple TV or a connected streaming app.
What tennis coverage does Apple Sports provide?
Apple’s tennis launch announcement says the app covers live scores for Grand Slam and 1000-level tournaments and can track every point in men’s and women’s singles matches. It also provides results from the first round through the finals, so you can follow a tournament beyond the headline matches.

Tournaments and matches
- Grand Slams: Wimbledon, the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open are within the announced coverage category.
- 1000-level events: Apple identifies ATP and WTA 1000-level tournaments as part of the tennis offering.
- Singles: The point-by-point launch promise applies to both men’s and women’s singles.
Apple’s current App Store listing names Men’s Tennis and Women’s Tennis among supported competitions. Availability and features can vary by country, region and device, so the competitions visible in your app may differ.

Does Apple Sports show every tennis point?
For the men’s and women’s singles matches covered by the service, Apple says it can track every point. The tennis match screen may also show live score progression and other statistics Apple receives for that event. That is different from promising a full official data feed for every tournament, court or lower-tier tour: the published coverage specifically identifies Grand Slam and 1000-level events.

How to follow a tennis tournament or match
- Install or open Apple Sports on an iPhone that meets the app requirement.
- Choose tennis and locate the tournament, player or match you want to monitor.
- Follow the tournament or match using the follow control shown in the app. Following keeps the event in your personalized sports view and enables relevant updates.
- Open the match page for the live score, point-by-point information and any additional statistics supplied for that event.
Exact controls and the amount of match detail can change with the event and your region. Apple’s sports interface can also expose items such as box scores, play-by-play, team statistics, lineups and betting odds where those data are available; tennis pages will only show the information Apple receives for that match.
Can tennis scores appear on an iPhone Lock Screen or Apple Watch?
Yes, through Apple Sports Live Activities. When a followed match supports the feature, live scores and play updates can appear on the iPhone Lock Screen and on Apple Watch.

Check before troubleshooting
- Update the iPhone to at least iOS 17.2 for the app; use iOS 18 or later if you want Live Activities.
- Open the App Store in your country to confirm that Apple Sports is offered there.
- Check notification and Live Activities permissions if a followed match is not appearing on the Lock Screen.
Can Apple Sports stream a tennis match?
Apple Sports is a scores and information hub, not an included tennis-TV subscription. Apple says you can tap through to watch live games in the Apple TV app or in connected streaming apps when a viewing option exists. Whether a specific match has a video stream depends on broadcast rights, your region and any subscription required by the linked service.
What the handoff means
- The score page may offer a Watch or similar viewing link when a provider is available.
- Apple TV or the connected app handles playback and may require its own subscription or sign-in.
- No stream link does not necessarily mean the score data are unavailable; it can mean rights are not offered in your location.
Apple Sports versus a dedicated tennis-score app
Apple Sports is most useful when you want tennis alongside other sports and want Apple device integration. A dedicated tennis service may be stronger for tours or competitions outside Apple’s named Grand Slam and 1000-level coverage. Compare services on these points before choosing one:

What Apple Sports does not claim
- Apple has not published an official user count, scoring-latency figure or accuracy rate for tennis scoring.
- The tennis announcement does not establish coverage for every professional tournament or doubles match.
- The app itself is not described as an all-inclusive tennis streaming service.
Bottom line for tennis fans
Apple Sports is a practical way to follow covered Grand Slam and 1000-level singles matches, including point-by-point updates, tournament results and Apple device alerts. Install it on a compatible iPhone, follow the events you care about, and use Live Activities on iOS 18 or watchOS 11 when available. For video, expect a handoff to Apple TV or another rights-holding streaming app rather than a stream included in Apple Sports.
