Apple released the second public betas of iOS 27.2 and macOS Golden Gate 27.2 on October 6, 2026, according to MacRumors. The clearest reported feature is a redesigned Health app in iOS 27.2; the available report does not establish a complete change list or identify features unique to this public-beta release.
What is new in the second public betas?
iOS 27.2
MacRumors reports that iOS 27.2 includes the redesigned Health app introduced at Apple’s September iPhone event. That is a report about iOS; it does not establish that the redesign is part of macOS 27.2. The report also does not provide a complete feature list or distinguish changes introduced in the second public beta from those already present in earlier 27.2 builds.

macOS Golden Gate 27.2
The October 6 announcement confirms the second public beta’s release, but does not identify a specific new Mac feature. Apple’s wider announcements about iOS 27 and other platforms describe platform updates, not a changelog for these particular 27.2 betas.

Apple’s developer release listing dates iOS 27.2 beta 3 and macOS 27.2 beta 3 to October 5, one day before the second public betas were reported. The listing gives these developer builds as iOS 27.2 beta 3, build 24B5099f, and macOS 27.2 beta 3, build 26B5101f. Those are developer-listing labels; they do not establish that the public beta track had reached its third release. Public- and developer-beta numbering should therefore be treated separately.

Apple first announced the 27.2 beta wave on September 16. Its developer releases listing is the place to check the dated developer build entries.
What should developers do?
Apple recommends that developers check their apps on the new beta operating systems to confirm they behave as expected, and build and test with Xcode 27.2. This is standard compatibility work for a beta: an app that worked on an earlier system build should still be tested on the new one before relying on it for development or release.

Apple has not established in the cited release information which devices are eligible for these public betas, how enrollment works, or where each build is available. For current eligibility and enrollment details, consult Apple’s official beta-program guidance before installing. Beta software may change, so it is prudent to use a device and workflow suited to testing rather than assume it is ready for every user.
