Apple Music Appears to Have a New Logo—But Has Apple Confirmed a Rebrand?

Apple appears to be using a redesigned Apple Music logo, but it has not confirmed a complete rebrand. 9to5Mac reported on October 5, 2026, that a bolder, lowercase wordmark had surfaced on Apple Music Hall branding, in Apple Instagram Reels and in iOS 27.2 beta 3. At the time, Apple’s main Music website still showed the previous look.

What looks different in the reported logo?

9to5Mac describes the newer Apple Music mark as using lowercase letters and a bolder typeface than the older look. The report documents where the mark appeared; it does not establish an official design announcement or explain why Apple changed the styling.

Where has the new mark appeared?

In its October 5 report, 9to5Mac identified three kinds of appearances:

• Apple Music Hall branding: the newer mark appeared in the London venue’s header in a light version and in its footer in a dark version.
• Apple Instagram Reels: 9to5Mac reported sightings in Reels unrelated to the venue.
• iOS 27.2 beta 3: the report cited the new mark in this beta. That is evidence of use in a prerelease version, not confirmation that every user has received it.

The first reported appearance was tied to Apple Music Hall, which could initially have suggested a venue-specific design. Its later reported use in unrelated social posts and an iOS beta makes a broader identity update plausible.

Has Apple officially announced a complete rebrand?

Not in the cited coverage. 9to5Mac reported several uses of the redesigned mark, but did not cite a formal Apple statement confirming a full rebrand. It is more accurate to call this an apparent redesign than an announced, completed change.

The rollout also appeared incomplete: 9to5Mac said Apple’s main Apple Music website still displayed the previous look when its article was published on October 5, 2026. The coexistence of old and new assets could fit a gradual update, but the report does not establish a schedule or say when the main site might change.

What is Apple Music Hall?

Apple Music Hall’s official website describes it as Apple’s first live venue inside Battersea Power Station in London. The venue provides context for the logo’s earliest reported appearance, but does not by itself show that the branding was intended only for the Hall.

Separately, 9to5Mac’s September 22, 2026 report described the Hall as a 600-person space for intimate performances, with events also to be livestreamed for Apple Music subscribers. Those capacity and programming details come from that dated report, not from the current Hall homepage.

Does the logo change affect Apple Music itself?

The reported story concerns visual identity. It does not report changes to Apple Music’s catalog, subscription access or service features, so the logo sightings are not evidence that the service works differently.
