Apple has not announced either product, but reports citing Bloomberg say the company may introduce OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models and an OLED iPad mini around October 27, 2026. The reported timing, features and launch lineup remain unconfirmed. Meanwhile, U.S. online-store prices for the current iPad mini and MacBook Pro were reported higher in June; those figures do not reveal what any rumored refresh will cost.
What the reports say Apple may be preparing
MacRumors reported on October 8, citing Bloomberg, that Apple could introduce OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models and an OLED iPad mini “on or around” October 27. The same report mentioned an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro and an M6 iMac in the possible launch lineup. Tom’s Guide also attributed an expected October 27 event and lighter touchscreen MacBooks to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Neither outlet’s report is an Apple announcement, and the date is not a confirmed shipping date. MacRumors · Tom’s Guide

MacBook Pro: OLED and touch are reported features
MacRumors described 14-inch and 16-inch notebooks that would be thinner and lighter, with OLED displays, touch capability and Dynamic Island. Its account says the devices would remain in the MacBook Pro family. The “MacBook Ultra” name has appeared in earlier speculation, but it is not a confirmed name for these reported models. iPad mini: OLED is also unconfirmed
The reported OLED iPad mini is likewise a possibility, not a product Apple has announced in the cited coverage. Its final name, release date, starting price and retail availability are not established by those reports. MacRumors

Apple’s statement reproduced by MacRumors about the June changes said: “We have shielded our customers from these increases so far, but we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today’s increases for iPad and Mac.” That statement explains the earlier price changes, not the pricing of a possible future refresh. Should you buy now or wait?
Consider buying the current iPad mini if you need one now
If the current iPad mini meets your needs and you have a reason to buy now, evaluate it at the price and availability actually offered by a retailer. The reports do not establish when an OLED replacement would arrive or what it would cost, so waiting is a choice to defer a purchase for an unconfirmed model—not a way to guarantee a better price.

Consider waiting if OLED is the feature you want
If an OLED screen is important enough to change your decision, waiting for an official announcement can clarify whether the reported iPad mini exists as described, when it will be available and how it is priced. The same logic applies to a MacBook Pro buyer who specifically wants touch input: the current models are the buy-now option, while the OLED touchscreen refresh remains a report.
Keep the name and launch timing in perspective
Earlier March coverage speculated about a higher-priced “MacBook Ultra,” using past OLED introductions as context. That speculation does not confirm either a new product name or a price increase for the October-reported MacBook Pro models. The October coverage describes them as MacBook Pro models, and no official name or launch date is established in the cited sources. MacRumors’ March coverage · MacRumors’ October report
