The 13-inch MacBook Air introduced in 2020 is a compact, fanless laptop with a sharp 13.3-inch display, two versatile Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports and battery life Apple rated at up to 15 hours of wireless web use under its test conditions. Its age makes configuration and battery condition especially important when buying used. Apple identifies the M1 model internally as MacBookAir10,1; it is a different model from the Intel-based 13-inch MacBook Air also released in 2020.
What does A2337 refer to?
A2337 is commonly used in listings for the 13-inch MacBook Air with Apple’s M1 chip, introduced in 2020. Apple’s model-identification page names this family “MacBook Air (M1, 2020)” and gives its internal model identifier as MacBookAir10,1. Apple lists the Intel-based “MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020)” separately, so a seller’s shorthand or a “2020 MacBook Air” title alone does not confirm which machine is for sale. Apple’s model-identification guide can help identify the actual computer.

For any used listing, verify the model and configuration on the unit itself rather than relying on the listing title. Apple’s model-identification page lists macOS 27 as the newest compatible operating system for the M1 family as of October 2026; software support and compatibility can change.

How does the display and fanless design affect everyday use?
The 2560 × 1600 resolution on a 13.3-inch panel gives text and interface elements a crisp appearance. Apple specifies 400-nit brightness, P3 wide color and True Tone, features that make the screen a stronger fit for general browsing, documents, video and color-rich content than a basic low-resolution panel. Those figures describe the display specification, not a guarantee about the condition of a particular used screen.
The Air has no fan. Apple described the M1 model’s fanless design as enabling silent operation in its November 10, 2020 launch announcement. A quiet design is useful in shared rooms and libraries, though this review has no hands-on testing of a specific unit or workload.

How fast is the M1 MacBook Air?
Apple’s M1 combines an 8-core CPU, with four performance cores and four efficiency cores, with either a 7-core or 8-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. The precise configuration matters, and the work you plan to do matters too: check that your required apps run on Apple silicon and perform adequately for your tasks.

Those are Apple’s comparative marketing claims, not independent benchmarks or results from testing this review. The available evidence does not establish how a particular used unit will perform in your apps.

- Up to eight GPU cores with up to 5x faster graphics for graphics-intensive apps and games
How long does the M1 MacBook Air battery last?
Apple rates the 49.9Wh battery for up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing or up to 18 hours of Apple TV app movie playback. These are manufacturer estimates from controlled test setups, not guaranteed runtime for every workload. Screen brightness, applications and other usage affect how long a charge lasts; an older machine’s present battery condition cannot be inferred from its original rating. Check battery health and cycle information on the actual computer before buying used. The original technical figures and test qualifications are on Apple’s specifications page.
Can the M1 MacBook Air run two external monitors?
Apple specifies support for one external display up to 6K at 60Hz. That means this model is not specified for a straightforward two-external-display setup. If your desk depends on multiple external screens, confirm that the computer meets your display requirements before choosing it.

Are two ports enough?
The Air has two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, both of which can handle charging and support DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3 up to 40Gb/s, USB 4 up to 40Gb/s and USB 3.1 Gen 2 up to 10Gb/s. There is also a headphone jack. With only two multifunction ports, connecting power and another device can leave no port free; a compatible hub or adapter may be needed for extra connections or a particular display cable. Check compatibility for the intended screen and peripherals before buying an accessory.

What should you check before buying a used A2337?
- Confirm the model and configuration. On the computer, verify that it is the M1 MacBook Air introduced in 2020, then check memory and storage rather than relying on the seller’s title.
- Inspect battery information. Review battery health and cycle information on the unit. The original rating does not tell you how an aged battery performs now.
- Test the parts you will use. Check the display, keyboard, Touch ID, trackpad, headphone jack and both ports. Test charging and any peripherals or display connection you depend on.
- Read the sale terms. Confirm the condition description, return policy and any warranty before paying. Current prices, stock and seller quality are not established here, so assess the specific offer.
Apple publishes a repair manual for the MacBook Air (M1, 2020), with troubleshooting and procedures covering areas such as the battery, display, keyboard/top case, logic board and ports. The manual’s existence does not establish repair cost, novice repair difficulty or parts availability in a particular region.
Is the M1 MacBook Air still worth buying?
It can suit someone seeking a light, quiet computer for everyday work, provided the specific configuration meets their needs and the price, battery condition and purchase terms make sense. Its sharp wide-color display, fanless construction and manufacturer-rated battery life are attractive on paper. Its two ports, one-display limit and fixed memory and storage configuration are meaningful constraints. There is no current price or live inventory established here, so the value depends on the individual unit and offer.
