The iPhone 17 and vivo S2 target different priorities: Apple’s phone pairs a 6.3-inch display with its A19 chip and a dual 48MP camera system, while vivo’s S2 has a larger 6.83-inch 120Hz display and a 7050mAh battery. A 91mobiles comparison page showed offers of ₹99,900 for the iPhone 17 and ₹39,990 for the vivo S2 5G when accessed; these are changeable listings, not fixed manufacturer prices. The better fit depends on your preferred operating system, current same-day price, storage needs, screen size and camera use.

Specifications come from Apple’s iPhone 17 technical specifications, vivo India’s S2 product page and the 91mobiles comparison. The 91mobiles page calls the vivo model “S2 5G”; vivo’s own India page calls it “vivo S2.” Confirm the regional model and exact retailer SKU before buying.

India price difference: check both listings together
At access on 2026-10-04, 91mobiles displayed an Amazon offer of ₹99,900 for the iPhone 17 and ₹39,990 for the vivo S2 5G. Those displayed amounts differ by ₹59,910, but that arithmetic is only a snapshot of two third-party offers—not a stable price gap or an official manufacturer price. Check both retailer pages on the same day and compare the seller, storage variant, stock and any discount or exchange conditions. A price comparison is meaningful only when the exact products and purchase terms match.
Display: vivo is larger; Apple lists adaptive refresh
vivo S2: more screen area
The vivo’s 6.83-inch 1.5K POLED panel is the larger option, and vivo lists a 120Hz refresh rate. That may suit readers who prioritise a roomy screen for viewing or scrolling, but size and refresh figures alone do not establish brightness, colour accuracy or overall display quality.

iPhone 17: a smaller OLED with ProMotion
Apple lists a 6.3-inch OLED at 2622 × 1206 resolution and 460 ppi, with ProMotion adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. The published specifications provide more detail on resolution and pixel density, while the smaller diagonal may appeal if you prefer a more compact phone. Choose based on the form factor and features you value rather than assuming that the larger panel is automatically better.
Performance and storage: compare the actual configuration
The iPhone 17 uses Apple’s A19 with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. vivo specifies an 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo. Core counts and chip names do not establish which phone is faster in the apps or games you use; a fair performance ranking needs consistent independent testing.

Apple lists 256GB and 512GB iPhone 17 capacities, while 91mobiles lists 128GB for the vivo S2 5G. Confirm the vivo model’s exact capacity and local availability, then decide whether that storage fits your photos, videos, apps and offline files.

Apple lists a dual Fusion rear-camera system with a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. It also describes optical-quality 2x telephoto framing from the main camera. vivo’s product page promotes a 50MP main sensor, while 91mobiles lists an additional 2MP depth camera for the S2 5G.

The published configurations indicate different camera coverage, particularly the iPhone’s dedicated ultra-wide camera. They do not establish which phone takes better photos or video: megapixel counts and lens lists cannot substitute for comparable sample images and video tests. Match the exact vivo regional SKU before relying on its listed camera configuration.

vivo specifies a 7050mAh battery and advertises up to 33 hours of video playback, 43.7 hours of local music playback and 49 hours of 5G calls. Apple states up to 30 hours of video playback and up to 27 hours of streamed video playback for iPhone 17. These are manufacturer figures for different use cases and methods, not results from a controlled comparison; they cannot determine which phone lasts longer in your daily routine.

For charging, Apple says iPhone 17 can reach up to 50% in 20 minutes using a 40W-or-higher adapter and cable, with the adapter sold separately. It also lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. The 44W Flash Charging figure for the vivo comes from the 91mobiles listing; check the regional package and accessory compatibility before purchase.

Apple rates iPhone 17 IP68 and specifies a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC standard 60529. vivo claims IP68 and IP69 for the S2 and says water resistance is not permanent. These ratings do not make either phone waterproof; take the manufacturers’ stated conditions seriously and do not treat resistance as permanent protection.
vivo states three generations of OS updates and five years of security updates for the S2. That is vivo’s published support commitment, not a guarantee of update timing or delivery quality. Apple’s cited specifications page describes iOS features, including Apple Intelligence, but does not state an update-duration figure for the iPhone 17.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose iPhone 17 if you prefer Apple’s iOS and ecosystem, want the listed 256GB or 512GB capacities, or value a dedicated ultra-wide camera alongside the main camera.
- Consider vivo S2 if you prefer Android, want the larger 6.83-inch panel and high stated battery capacity, or the current offer is substantially lower for the configuration you need.
- Pause before buying either if camera quality, real-world battery life or gaming performance is the deciding factor: the cited specifications and offers do not provide a controlled head-to-head test for those outcomes.
Before checkout, confirm the exact model name and regional SKU, storage, seller, current price, network-band compatibility with your carrier and included charging accessories. This matters especially for the vivo because the manufacturer page and comparison listing use different product names.
