The better buy depends on three things: whether you want a 6.1-inch or a 6.8-inch screen, whether you are already invested in Apple’s ecosystem, and which storage configuration you can get at the lowest price. On the price side, Motorola is the lower listed option. Motorola India showed the Edge 70 Pro Plus 12/256 GB at ₹47,999 on October 7, 2026, against an MRP of ₹84,999. The iPhone 15 price is much less settled, with listings ranging from ₹50,990 to ₹63,999 depending on the source.
Price difference in India: what the listings actually show
There is no single price gap between these two phones that you can rely on yet. The figures below were all found for India, but they were displayed on different dates, by different sellers, and the storage tier behind each iPhone figure is not stated in every listing.

Across these listings, the gap runs from roughly ₹3,000 to ₹16,000. That range is not a like-for-like difference, because the iPhone 15 storage tier, seller, warranty, and offer terms are not confirmed for each figure. Apple’s own India price for the iPhone 15 was not established in the sources available for this comparison, so check Apple’s India store for the current official price before you decide.

Before you act on any price difference, compare the same storage tier, the same seller type (official store or marketplace), the same warranty terms, and any bank or exchange offers that apply at checkout. A lower marketplace price for a phone sold with a shorter or different warranty is not the same deal as an official listing.

Specification comparison
The table below uses the values published in comparison listings. These are not official full specification sheets for both phones, and they should be checked against the exact model you plan to buy.

Several of these values differ from one listing to another, and the operating system versions in particular are a snapshot taken from the listing date, so treat them as a starting point rather than a guarantee of what you will receive.

Size and display: the decision that matters most
The 6.8-inch Motorola gives you a substantially larger viewing area for video, reading, and multitasking. The 6.1-inch iPhone 15 is easier to hold and pocket with one hand, and many buyers prefer it for that reason alone. If you mainly use your phone one-handed, or you find large phones tiring in a pocket or bag, the iPhone’s smaller body is the more practical fit. If you watch a lot of video or read long articles on the phone, the Motorola’s larger screen is the stronger choice.

Cameras: lens variety versus resolution
The listings show the Motorola with three rear cameras, including a telephoto lens. The iPhone 15 is listed with a 48 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultrawide camera, with no telephoto module mentioned. A telephoto lens is useful when you want to frame distant subjects, such as sports, wildlife, or events, without moving closer. The iPhone’s main camera can still produce close-up and portrait shots well, but the listed hardware does not give it a dedicated telephoto lens.

Do not read the megapixel numbers as a verdict on picture quality. Sensor size, lens quality, processing, and software all affect the final image, and none of these comparisons includes camera tests. Judge the camera on sample photos from reviews of the exact model you are considering.
Battery: capacity is not endurance
The listed capacities are 6,500 mAh for the Motorola and 3,349 mAh for the iPhone 15. The Motorola’s battery is much larger on paper, but a bigger battery in a larger phone with a bigger screen does not automatically translate into longer real-world use. Screen size, processor efficiency, software, and your own usage patterns all change how long a charge lasts. Look for battery-life test results from a reliable review of each model before assuming one will outlast the other.

Performance and software: Android versus iOS
The listings name a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme with Android 16 for the Motorola, and an Apple A16 Bionic with iOS 17 for the iPhone 15. Processor clock speeds and model names are not a reliable way to judge everyday speed, so compare real-world performance in reviews rather than from specification sheets.
The bigger question is which ecosystem you already use. If you have an iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, or AirPods, the iPhone 15 keeps those devices working together with little setup. If you are on Android, or you use Windows and Google services, the Motorola will feel more familiar. Switching ecosystems also means moving photos, messages, and app purchases, which can cost time and money.

Check the actual software version on any phone you buy. On an iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update. On a Motorola, go to Settings > About phone to see the Android version. Newer phones may ship with newer software than the listing shows.
Storage and memory
The Motorola listing shows 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage. The iPhone 15 is listed with 6 GB of RAM and three storage options: 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. Storage matters most for heavy photo and video users. If you shoot a lot of 4K video or keep large offline libraries, compare prices for the same storage tier, not the cheapest listing overall. The iPhone’s higher storage tiers are not available on the Motorola’s listed configuration, so a 512 GB iPhone and a 256 GB Motorola are not an equal comparison.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G if you want a larger screen, a telephoto camera, a larger listed battery, and Android, and the official ₹47,999 price (12/256 GB) suits your budget.
- Choose the iPhone 15 if you already use Apple devices, prefer a smaller phone that is easier to hold, and can buy the iPhone at a price you consider fair for the storage tier you need.
- Consider waiting or comparing more carefully if you are buying the iPhone and the only price you have seen is the higher ₹63,999 listing, since the gap to the Motorola narrows or widens sharply depending on the exact offer.
Before you buy: a checklist
- Confirm the storage tier and RAM on the exact product page, not only on a comparison site.
- Compare final checkout prices, including taxes, delivery, and offers, for the same configuration.
- Check the seller type: official store, authorized retailer, or marketplace seller.
- Confirm the warranty period and whether it is an official India warranty.
- Check return and exchange terms, especially for marketplace purchases.
- Look up current camera and battery reviews for the exact model.
