Apple HomeView Reportedly Launches at ₹39,900: Is It an iPad and HomePod in One?

Apple HomeView is being reported as a dedicated smart home display and hub, priced at ₹39,900 in India, with sales reportedly starting November 13, 2026. The “iPad and HomePod had a baby” line is a useful visual shorthand, not a literal description: coverage describes a shared home-control screen with a speaker base and a wall-mounted option, not an iPad running iPadOS. Apple product-page confirmation was not available in the cited coverage, so the launch details below should be treated as reported rather than independently confirmed.

What is Apple HomeView?

India Today and MacRumors describe HomeView as a purpose-built smart home hub with a display, speaker and home-control functions. The reported design combines a screen with a speaker base for tabletop use, with a separate wall-mounted configuration also described. That makes the iPad comparison about the presence of a screen, while the HomePod comparison refers to the speaker and smart-home role; neither makes HomeView a tablet or establishes that it runs iPadOS.

India Today reports a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, video calling, smart-home controls, four color options and personalized household experiences. MacRumors also reports a 7-inch display. These are coverage details, not confirmed specifications from an Apple product page.

Reported price and availability

Market Reported price Reported dates Source and status
India ₹39,900 Preorders from October 13, 2026; sales from November 13, 2026 India Today, October 13, 2026; report, not confirmed here by an Apple product page
United States $299 Availability from November 13, 2026 MacRumors, October 13, 2026; report

The price and dates are media-reported figures, not independently confirmed retail listings. Apple’s India Newsroom archive search result retrieved for October 13 did not surface a HomeView announcement or product page. Availability and pricing may differ by country; the reported U.S. price should not be treated as an India conversion or local offer.

How it differs from buying an iPad and speaker

HomeView is presented as a shared household screen rather than a general-purpose personal tablet. That distinction matters if the main goal is to leave a device in a common room for home controls, calls or household information. A tablet, by contrast, is designed for broader personal use; the reporting does not establish that HomeView offers the same app choice or flexibility.

  • Consider the reported dedicated hub concept if the device is meant to stay in one room and serve multiple household members.
  • Consider a general-purpose tablet instead if you need broad app availability or one device for varied personal tasks. HomeView’s final software capabilities have not been confirmed in the cited reporting.
  • Choose placement based on the room: the coverage describes both a tabletop speaker-base version and a wall-mounted configuration.
  • Check smart-home compatibility first: the available reporting does not establish a complete list of compatible devices, standards or brands.

What is known—and not yet confirmed—about software

Prelaunch coverage described touch input with voice as the primary interaction, a limited selection of Apple apps and no dedicated App Store. Those points need confirmation against final product documentation. In particular, the absence of a reported App Store is not proof that HomeView cannot run any third-party service; the final software model has not been established here.

  • Supports AirPlay, Spatial Audio, Thread, Matter smart home control, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 4.
  • Pair two HomePod speakers for stereo sound or use multiple units for whole-home audio playback.

Siri and regional availability

Apple’s September 14, 2026 software announcement says Siri AI feature availability varies by region and language, with some platform and feature exclusions. It does not establish which languages or Siri capabilities HomeView itself supports. Buyers should not assume that every advertised or reported Siri AI function will work identically in every country.

Accessories and the wider home setup

A prelaunch MacRumors report citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman described a planned Apple Home Collection, including possible doorbells, locks, thermostats, temperature sensors and security cameras, with LG and Schneider Electric named in connection with the plans. Treat these as reported plans: the report does not establish final retail availability, timing, compatibility or the partners’ eventual roles.

What to check before buying

  1. Confirm the local product listing and price. The ₹39,900 figure and November 13, 2026 sales date are reported by India Today; verify them against Apple or an authorized retailer before purchasing.
  2. Choose the intended placement. Check the final product details for what is included with the tabletop speaker-base or wall-mounted configuration, and whether any mounting hardware is needed.
  3. Verify compatibility with your existing home devices. Do not infer compatibility from the reported Home Collection plans; check the supported-device list for the specific accessories you own.
  4. Check language and Siri features for your region. Apple says Siri AI availability varies by region and language, and HomeView-specific support is not established by the cited announcement.
  5. Review the final software and app details. The reported app limits and lack of a dedicated App Store come from prelaunch coverage, so wait for confirmed product documentation if app flexibility is essential.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
