Apple Card has no published approval odds or guaranteed credit-score cutoff. Goldman Sachs reviews your credit score and report, current debt obligations, and reported income; approval depends on the full application. Applying starts with a soft inquiry, but accepting an offer triggers a hard inquiry that may affect your score.
What are the Apple Card approval odds?
Apple does not publish an approval-rate percentage or a formula that can predict an individual applicant’s result. Goldman Sachs evaluates the application using the applicant’s credit score, credit report—including existing debt obligations—and reported income. Apple names TransUnion and other credit bureaus in its guidance. A score from a personal-finance service may use a different bureau or scoring model than the TransUnion FICO Score 9 Apple describes, so it may not predict the same decision. Apple’s application evaluation guidance explains the factors it considers.

Apple lists examples that can make approval less likely, including recent or current missed debt payments, recent nonmedical collections, tax liens, judgments, bankruptcy or repossession, insufficient disposable income, and debt that is high relative to income. Using all available card credit while opening many new accounts, submitting many recent credit applications, and having a low score can also count against an application.
Apple says a FICO Score 9 below 600 is one example that might make approval difficult, not a minimum score or cutoff. It says a range of scores may be considered alongside other factors. A score of 600—or any other single number—cannot establish your odds by itself.

What credit score do you need for Apple Card?
There is no published score requirement that guarantees approval. The score is one part of a broader review of credit history, debt, income, and the application. Apple’s below-600 example is illustrative; it should not be treated as a threshold. Likewise, a higher score alone cannot guarantee approval.
The initial approval decision and the credit limit are related but distinct. Apple says the limit also takes account of income, minimum payments on existing debt, credit score, and current use of credit lines. An approval therefore does not imply a particular starting limit.
Does applying for Apple Card hurt your credit?

- Accept an approved offer: Acceptance results in a hard inquiry, which may affect your score.
- Decline the offer or receive a denial: The application inquiry does not affect your score if you do not accept the offer.
If Apple declines the application, it sends an explanation by email and may include information about the score or credit-bureau data involved. Check the personal and credit information cited in the notice for accuracy, and request the referenced report if needed. You can apply again, but Apple cautions that the decision may be the same. Apple’s guidance on application decisions and inquiries describes this process.

How much Daily Cash does Apple Card give?
Apple’s published Daily Cash rates depend on the merchant and how you pay—not just on having the card:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
| Purchase method or merchant | Published Daily Cash rate | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Apple and selected merchants | 3% | Eligibility, offer terms, and any required payment method vary by merchant. |
| Apple Pay | 2% | The rate applies to eligible purchases made with Apple Pay; it does not stack with the 3% rate. |
| Titanium card in stores or virtual card number online | 1% | These payment methods earn the standard 1% rate. |
Daily Cash is earned after a transaction posts, and the posting time can vary. Offers, exclusions, and payment requirements can change, so check the current Apple Card rewards terms for a specific merchant. Do not assume every purchase at a selected retailer qualifies for 3%.
Daily Cash can go to Apple Cash or an eligible Apple Card Savings account. If neither receiving account is set up, it can be used as a statement credit on request. Savings is a separate deposit account with eligibility requirements, not an automatic feature for every cardholder. Apple displayed a 3.40% APY for Savings as of September 4, 2026; the APY is variable and can change. That deposit yield is separate from the card’s Daily Cash reward rates. See Apple’s current account details.

What is the Apple Card APR, and what fees apply?
Apple listed a variable APR of 17.49%–27.74% for new accounts as of July 1, 2026, with the rate based on creditworthiness. Your offered APR may differ from another applicant’s, so check the rate shown with your offer. Apple lists no annual, foreign-transaction, or late fees, but that does not make borrowing free: interest can accrue when you carry a balance. Apple says interest is calculated using the APR and daily balance. Paying the statement balance in full when feasible avoids interest on purchases under the account’s terms. See Apple’s current rates and fees.
Are Apple Card Monthly Installments interest-free?
Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) is a 0% APR option for eligible Apple purchases in the United States when you select it at checkout, subject to approval and available credit. It is not the same as using the regular Apple Card payment option: choosing that option instead applies the account’s variable APR. Taxes and shipping may also be subject to the variable APR. Eligible products, storefronts, carriers, and installment terms can vary, so confirm the current checkout details and Apple Card Monthly Installments terms before purchasing.

Apple Card Family includes Owners, Co-Owners, and Participants in a Family Sharing group. Co-Owners share equal rights and are individually responsible for the account balance; Apple says they are reported as owners and can see account activity. Owners and Co-Owners can set limits and controls for Participants. Treat Co-Ownership as a shared credit obligation, not merely a way to share access. See Apple’s Apple Card Family information for roles and account controls.
Who may find Apple Card’s rewards useful?
Compare the card against alternatives using your actual spending and payment habits rather than a single headline reward rate. Check the reward rate for the merchants and payment methods you use, whether you can use rewards in a way that suits you, the APR you would receive if you might carry a balance, and any annual or transaction fees. Also consider whether you have the Apple devices needed for the features you want. The tiered 1%, 2%, and 3% structure can be useful for eligible Apple Pay and selected-merchant purchases, but the value depends on where and how you pay.
Who issues Apple Card now, and what is changing?
Apple announced on January 7, 2026, that Chase is expected to become Apple Card’s next issuer, with the transition anticipated in approximately 24 months from that announcement. Mastercard is expected to remain the payment network. Apple said cardholders could continue using their cards as usual during the transition. This is a planned change, not a completed issuer handover; Apple’s announcement did not provide a precise transition date or full account-migration details. See the January 7, 2026 Apple Newsroom announcement.
