AOC has introduced the AOC AGP277QKM, a 27-inch gaming monitor combining 2560×1440 resolution, an overclocked 425Hz refresh mode, QD-enhanced Fast IPS and a 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight. The model is listed on AOC’s official China product page, while an independent IT之家 launch report confirms the same core specifications. AOC has not established a worldwide release date, retail price or stock availability in the information available for this launch.
What the AGP277QKM offers
The AGP277QKM is aimed at competitive players who want the motion clarity of an esports display without dropping to Full HD. Its 27-inch Fast IPS panel runs at 2560×1440 and can reach 425Hz in an AOC-designated overclocked mode. That combination gives a sharper image than a 1080p esports monitor while targeting very high frame rates in supported games.

Is it really 1440p at 425Hz?
Yes, AOC specifies 2560×1440 at up to 425Hz, but 425Hz is not the panel’s default native setting: it is an overclocked mode. AOC advises reducing the refresh rate if errors occur. Stability can depend on the graphics card, cable, driver, display settings and game workload, so buyers should treat 425Hz as a maximum operating mode rather than a guaranteed result in every setup.
Driving 425 frames per second at QHD requires a powerful graphics system and is most realistic in competitive titles with reduced quality settings. Less demanding games can benefit from the refresh headroom, while visually intensive games may run well below 425 frames per second and therefore gain less from the highest setting.

Mini LED HDR and color performance
The monitor uses 1,152 independently controlled Mini LED dimming zones. Local dimming lets bright and dark areas be controlled separately, a major contrast advantage over conventional edge-lit IPS displays. AOC lists VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and a 1,200 cd/m² peak-brightness claim, placing the model’s stated HDR capability well above typical SDR gaming monitors.
Quantum-dot technology expands the stated color gamut to 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3. AOC also lists 10.7-bit display color and a factory average Delta E below 1 in its stated sRGB test mode. These are manufacturer specifications and laboratory figures; actual uniformity, blooming and motion performance can vary by sample and by the selected picture mode. A high zone count does not eliminate halos around small bright objects, so Mini LED remains a compromise between contrast and precise pixel-level control.

Response-time claims and gaming features
AOC quotes 0.3ms MPRT, 0.5ms minimum GTG and 1ms average GTG. MPRT and GTG describe different measurement methods, and the quoted values are manufacturer laboratory figures with conditions given in AOC’s footnotes rather than independent test results.
- Adaptive-Sync and FreeSync support for variable-refresh operation.
- Low-input-lag mode and MBR motion-blur reduction.
- Frame-rate counter and game-specific controls.
- PBP and PIP for displaying multiple sources.
Ports, bandwidth and DSC requirements
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 port, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB upstream connection and audio output. AOC notes that some HDMI combinations using high refresh rates and high color settings require a DSC-capable graphics card. The correct connection therefore depends on the GPU and the color-depth setting, not simply on the connector label.

For a high-refresh QHD setup, use certified, bandwidth-appropriate DisplayPort 2.1 or HDMI 2.1 cables and check the graphics card’s output capabilities. If 425Hz is unavailable or unstable, select a lower refresh rate in the operating system or monitor menu and test again before troubleshooting games or drivers.

When can you buy it?
The available launch information identifies the model and specifications but does not establish an Amazon listing, authorized-retailer stock, price or worldwide release timing. AOC’s China product listing indicates the product’s origin, not automatic availability in every market. Buyers should verify a local retailer’s region, warranty coverage, final price and whether the listing is for the AGP277QKM rather than a similarly named AGON display.

Who should consider it?
- Competitive QHD players: The 425Hz ceiling is useful when a system can sustain very high frame rates.
- HDR-focused gamers: DisplayHDR 1000 certification and 1,152 Mini LED zones provide a stronger HDR specification than ordinary IPS gaming monitors.
- Mixed-use creators and gamers: The stated DCI-P3 coverage, sRGB calibration claim and flexible ergonomics suit more than esports play.
- Existing 1080p esports users: The upgrade brings higher resolution and HDR, but it also demands more GPU performance and may cost more once regional pricing is known.
