The AOC C27G4H2 is a 27-inch, 1080p curved VA gaming monitor rated for up to 200 Hz—not 144 Hz or 240 Hz. It may suit buyers who want a high refresh rate at Full HD, but the right choice depends on more than the headline number: resolution, connection limits, panel type, the frame rate your PC can deliver, ergonomics, and current price all matter.

Is the AOC C27G4H2 a 144Hz or 240Hz monitor?

No. AOC’s US product page lists the C27G4H2 at a maximum refresh rate of 200 Hz. It is between the two tiers in the title, rather than an exact 144 Hz or 240 Hz model. Specifications below are manufacturer-published, not independent test results. AOC C27G4H2 specifications.

Check the full model code before comparing listings. AOC’s separate C27G4H material specifies 180 Hz, while its C27G4ZH page advertises 280 Hz. Those suffixes are not interchangeable: the C27G4ZH page’s accompanying leaflet is headed C27G4H and shows 180 Hz, so it does not independently confirm the ZH page’s full specification set. Verify the exact SKU and its manual before buying. C27G4H2, C27G4ZH page, C27G4H leaflet.

What does the C27G4H2 offer?

AOC lists a 27-inch, 16:9 VA panel with a 1500R curve and 1920×1080 resolution. At that size and resolution, AOC gives the pixel density as 82 pixels per inch. The display also has a listed static contrast ratio of 3500:1 and brightness of 300 cd/m². These are specifications, not independently measured results. AOC’s C27G4H2 page.

  • ERGONOMIC DESIGN: Adjust the monitor with ease using its tilt, swivel, and height adjustment options. VESA compatibility allows for versatile mounting solutions.

For response time, AOC lists both 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT. These are different measurement labels, so they should not be treated as two directly comparable or independently verified measurements of real-world response performance.

The listed connections are two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and one audio output. The page also lists Adaptive Sync and HDR Ready. Check the monitor’s supported signal and your computer’s output when choosing a connection; a feature label alone does not establish how a particular setup will behave.

How should you compare 144Hz, 200Hz, and 240Hz?

A higher refresh-rate ceiling can display more frequent updates when the PC supplies frames at a matching rate, but the number on the box does not by itself establish a monitor’s measured input lag, response performance, or the practical benefit for a particular player. The available model specifications do not provide a controlled 144 Hz versus 240 Hz comparison or a GPU threshold. Consider the whole setup rather than assuming that 240 Hz is automatically the better buy.

  • Match refresh to your PC: Consider the frame rates your system can sustain in the games you play, not just the monitor’s maximum rating.
  • Compare resolution: A 27-inch 1080p display prioritizes a less demanding resolution; a 27-inch QHD display has more pixels and may increase the graphics workload.
  • Confirm the input: A monitor’s maximum rate can vary by connection and signal resolution. Check the specified combination for the port and device you plan to use.
  • Check panel and shape: VA, IPS, and curved or flat designs are meaningful differences, but specifications alone do not establish which will suit your preferences.
  • Check sync and setup: Look at the monitor, GPU, connection, and software configuration together rather than assuming similarly named sync features are interchangeable.

What verified alternatives show about resolution and connection?

AOC’s Q27G4 is a useful example of why refresh rate should not be compared in isolation. It is a 27-inch QHD Fast IPS model, and AOC specifies different maximum refresh rates at its native resolution depending on the connection:

The Q27G4 is not a 240 Hz alternative: it illustrates the trade-off between Full HD and QHD, panel type, and the refresh rate supported by a particular input. AOC’s Q27G4 page supplies these model details; confirm the connection requirements against your own system. AOC Q27G4 specifications.

Who should choose each refresh-rate tier?

Choose the C27G4H2 if

  • You want a 27-inch Full HD screen and value a manufacturer-rated maximum of 200 Hz.
  • You prefer a curved VA display, or its listed connection and adjustment options fit your setup.
  • You have confirmed the exact C27G4H2 model and the live price is right for you.

Consider a 27-inch 144 Hz model if

  • You find a particular 144 Hz model that better fits your budget, preferred resolution, panel, ports, or stand.
  • Your computer and games do not make a higher refresh ceiling a priority.

“144 Hz” alone is not enough to compare value: verify the exact model’s resolution, panel, inputs, supported refresh rate on the input you will use, sync support, and ergonomics. AOC’s catalog shows that 144 Hz products exist, but a catalog listing is not enough to establish a specific model’s full specifications or value against the C27G4H2. AOC gaming monitor catalog.

Consider a 27-inch 240 Hz model if

  • You have identified an exact model whose resolution, connection, panel, and features suit your needs.
  • You expect your PC to deliver frame rates that make a higher refresh ceiling relevant for your games.
  • The model’s price and other trade-offs make sense compared with a 200 Hz or 144 Hz option.

Do not assume that every 240 Hz display is sharper, faster in measured response, or a better value than the C27G4H2. The available product information does not establish a representative 240 Hz competitor or a controlled performance ranking.

What should you check before buying?

  1. Match the SKU: Confirm that the listing and product label say C27G4H2, not C27G4H or C27G4ZH.
  2. Decide on resolution: Choose whether 27-inch Full HD or a higher-resolution option is the better fit for your image-quality priorities and PC.
  3. Verify the signal path: Check the exact resolution and refresh rate supported by the monitor input and your computer’s output. AOC’s Q27G4 specifications show why this matters: at QHD it supports 180 Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 and 144 Hz over HDMI 2.0.
  4. Compare physical fit: Check curvature, stand adjustments, desk space, and viewing position against the manufacturer’s specifications.
  5. Check current terms: Confirm price, stock, seller, warranty, and return terms for your country and the exact model before ordering.

AOC’s US C27G4H2 page displayed a starting price of $109.99 and an Amazon buying option when crawled in 2026. That is a time- and region-specific listing, not a guaranteed current price or availability. Check AOC’s current C27G4H2 listing.

So, what should you buy?

Choose the C27G4H2 if you specifically want a curved 27-inch Full HD VA display with a listed 200 Hz maximum and its current price and features suit you. Choose a 144 Hz or 240 Hz model only after checking its exact resolution, panel, input-specific refresh support, and fit with your PC. AOC’s published specifications support comparing those trade-offs, but they do not establish a universal performance winner.
