But the exact Nvidia-related quote implied by the original headline is not verified in the reviewed sources, and the reported figures do not establish that Anthropic’s spending will become Nvidia revenue or a higher stock price.
What the reported prospectus says about Anthropic’s business
Reuters reported on September 29, 2026, that Anthropic’s confidential prospectus showed rapid growth alongside heavy spending and dependence on outside partners. These are figures reported by Reuters from confidential filing material, not figures independently verified here against a public S-1.

| Reported item | Figure and context |
|---|---|
| 2025 revenue | Nearly $4.6 billion, up twelvefold, according to Reuters’ account of the prospectus. |
| 2025 operating losses | More than $8 billion, according to Reuters’ account of the prospectus. |
| Marketplace sales through Amazon and Google | About $2.16 billion in 2025, equal to 47% of annual revenue, according to Reuters’ account of the prospectus. |
| Marketplace fees | About $351 million, according to Reuters’ analysis of the reported prospectus figures. |
| Non-cancellable hosting and computing commitments | $54.6 billion at the end of 2025, according to Reuters’ account of the prospectus. |
| Total long-term commitments | More than $417 billion by early 2026, covering 3.5 gigawatts of dedicated computing capacity, according to Reuters’ account of the prospectus. |
The $54.6 billion figure describes non-cancellable hosting and computing commitments at the end of 2025; the larger total is reported for early 2026 and covers long-term commitments. They are different measures at different dates, not amounts to add together.

Why investors could read this as bullish for Nvidia
Building and operating AI systems at Anthropic’s reported scale requires substantial computing capacity. That supports an interpretation that demand for AI infrastructure may remain significant. Nvidia is financially connected to Anthropic, too: in its fiscal 2026 proxy statement, Nvidia said it entered an agreement in November 2025 to invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic, subject to closing conditions.

- AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
- OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
Together, the reported commitments and the investment agreement can support a bullish thesis: a major AI developer expects to secure substantial computing resources, while Nvidia has a potential financial stake in that developer. They do not establish which suppliers will fulfill the commitments, what share of the equipment will be Nvidia hardware, or whether the arrangement will produce incremental profit for Nvidia shareholders.
What the quote does—and does not—establish
The exact single Nvidia-related quotation suggested by the original headline could not be identified in the reviewed material. Reuters did quote the reported prospectus describing partner reach as “market penetration at a scale we believe would be difficult for any single organization to directly replicate.” It also quoted a warning that partner reliance “creates complex dynamics that could give rise to conflicts of interest and adversely affect our access to compute.” Neither passage says that Anthropic’s commitments will flow to Nvidia.

The first quotation concerns distribution through partners; the second highlights the risks of relying on them. Amazon and Google are both distribution partners and investors in Anthropic, and provide computing resources. That relationship may help Anthropic reach customers, but it also makes its access to infrastructure and routes to market dependent on companies with their own commercial interests.

- Supplier mix is not established: The reported commitment totals do not identify the share that would go to Nvidia or the type of accelerators involved.
- Commitments are not realized sales: The reported figures describe obligations and plans, not completed purchases or Nvidia revenue. Nvidia’s proxy statement says the investment agreement is conditional and cautions that completion on expected terms—or at all—is not assured.
- Anthropic’s growth comes with substantial losses: Reuters reported nearly $4.6 billion in 2025 revenue and operating losses above $8 billion. Revenue growth alone does not show that the company can fund its obligations or that suppliers will earn attractive returns.
- Revenue and distribution are concentrated: Reuters reported that two unnamed customers each accounted for 12% of 2025 revenue, while Amazon and Google marketplace sales together represented 47%. The prospectus also warned that many large customers were not bound by long-term contracts.
- Large commitments create exposure as well as demand: The reported infrastructure plans signal scale, but their financing, contingencies, and eventual utilization matter to how much economic value suppliers capture.
- Valuation still matters: Even if AI infrastructure demand grows, a stock’s performance depends on how that growth compares with investor expectations, Nvidia’s margins and cash generation, and the price investors pay. The reported Anthropic figures do not answer those questions.
Reuters also reported that government contracts represented less than 1% of Anthropic’s annual revenue, while the prospectus warned that government attitudes toward the company could affect broader commercial relationships and partners. This is another potential source of uncertainty, not evidence of a direct change in Nvidia demand.

Is Anthropic going public, and can investors buy its shares?
As of June 1, 2026, Anthropic said its confidential IPO filing gave it “the option to go public after the SEC completes its review.” The company added that a proposed offering would depend on market conditions and other factors; the Associated Press reported that share count and price had not been decided. A confidential filing is not the same as a completed public offering, so the reported prospectus figures do not mean Anthropic shares are available to buy on a public exchange.
The SEC EDGAR record reviewed for WU Anthropic LP is a Form D dated June 1, 2026, not a public S-1. That distinction matters: Reuters’ September 2026 account is reporting on confidential prospectus content, not a publicly available registration statement verified in the reviewed record.

What to check before treating the thesis as actionable
- Whether public filings identify the computing suppliers, accelerator mix, and purchase timing behind the commitments.
- Which commitments are cancellable, contingent, financed, or tied to capacity that may not be fully used.
- Whether Anthropic’s revenue growth narrows its operating losses and supports its long-term obligations.
- How much revenue depends on a small number of customers and on marketplace distribution through partners that also compete for business.
- Whether Nvidia converts any incremental AI demand into durable margins and cash flow, and whether its valuation already reflects that prospect.
Until those points are clearer, the prospectus reporting is best read as evidence of Anthropic’s appetite for computing and the scale of its plans—not as proof that Nvidia will capture a particular share of that spending.
