Anthropic’s expanded Claude Startups program offers approved startups one year of Claude Team for up to five Premium seats, plus a one-time $1,000 credit for the first-party Claude API. The Team offer is limited to organizations new to Claude Team, and the API credit expires six months after it is granted. Applications are reviewed, so meeting the published criteria does not guarantee acceptance.
What approved startups can get
- Claude Team: One year for up to five Premium seats, provided the organization is new to Claude Team. Accepted startups receive an email with a link to claim the offer through the Claude Startups page in Claude Console. Anthropic’s announcement and the program page describe the offer.
- Claude API credit: A one-time $1,000 credit for Anthropic’s first-party Claude API. Approved companies claim it in Claude Console; it expires six months after it is granted.
- Startup Stack offers: Discounts or free access from third-party companies, subject to each provider’s terms and availability.
- Startup support: Members can book virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team and access events including Founder House, hackathons, and meetups.
The offer is not a cash grant, and API credits cannot be used on AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or other third-party platforms.

Who can apply and what you need
Anthropic’s current program page says startups founded within the last five years or funded within the last two years may apply. VC funding is not required: bootstrapped, pre-seed, and venture-backed startups can all apply.

How to apply
- Create or sign in to a Claude Console account.
- Apply through the Claude Startups program page and provide a company-domain email and a short description of the product.
- Wait for Anthropic’s decision. The program FAQ says applications are usually decided within minutes; those sent for manual review usually take two to three business days.
- If accepted, follow the emailed link to claim the Team offer and claim API credits in Claude Console.
What the $7,000 and $45,000 values mean
Anthropic estimates that the standard package can be worth up to $7,000 when the organization uses all five Premium Team seats: its estimate values one year of five seats at $100 per seat per month, billed annually, or $6,000, plus the $1,000 API credit. Actual value varies with seat count and seat type; the $7,000 figure is not cash paid to a startup.
The separate “up to $45,000” figure refers to the combined maximum value of Startup Stack partner offers, calculated using partner list prices as of September 2026. A company’s actual value depends on which offers it can use, its plans, and team size. Anthropic says not every startup will qualify for or be able to combine every offer. These are third-party offers, not guaranteed credits or cash, and each provider’s terms apply.
Examples of partner offers
The current offer page lists examples including 25% off the first year of Gamma Pro annual, three months of Granola Business free for up to 10 seats, and six months free on Hex’s Enterprise plan. Offers can change; check current availability and redemption conditions in Claude Console. Anthropic’s program page lists the current Startup Stack.
When the offer is a good fit
- Your company meets Anthropic’s timing criteria and is prepared to submit company information for review.
- Your organization is new to Claude Team and can use Premium seats during the free year.
- Your product can use the first-party Claude API, and you expect to use the credit within six months of its grant.
- One or more Startup Stack offers match tools you would otherwise use, and their conditions work for your company.
Startups backed by a VC in Anthropic’s partner network may be able to obtain up to $100,000 in additional API credits through that VC. This is a separate, conditional route—not part of the standard $1,000 award.
