Anthropic’s October 6, 2026 expansion of Claude Startups combines a conditional year of Claude Team, a one-time $1,000 Claude API credit and offers from independent software companies. The advertised $45,000 in Startup Stack value is a combined maximum at partner list prices—not cash or a guaranteed benefit for every member.
What the expanded program offers
Approved members can receive benefits in three separate categories. The figures below describe different kinds of value and have different eligibility conditions.

These are estimates of products, credits and partner offers, not a $45,000 cash award. The $7,000 Claude figure also assumes the maximum five-seat Team configuration; a company receiving fewer seats or a different seat mix will have a different Team value. Anthropic’s expansion announcement provides the stated valuations and conditions.
What is in the Claude Startup Stack?
The Stack groups offers from independent software companies whose tools cover areas such as sales, design, data, meetings and engineering. Anthropic’s current catalog displays offers including ClickHouse Cloud credits, an ElevenLabs offer, Firecrawl credits, Gamma Pro, Granola Business and Hex Enterprise. The selection and terms can change; the listed names do not mean every startup can claim every offer.

These are third-party benefits, not additional Claude API credit. They are redeemed through Claude Console and are subject to partner terms. The combined maximum is based on partner list prices, so the value to a particular startup depends on whether it needs the services, qualifies for their offers and can use the relevant plans. Who can apply, and is VC funding required?
Anthropic says a startup can apply if it was founded within the last five years or funded within the last two years. The program is open to bootstrapped, pre-seed and venture-backed companies; VC funding is not required. Applicants need a Claude Console account, a company email matching the company’s website domain, a short description of what they are building, and must comply with Anthropic’s supportability policies.
Meeting these criteria is not an acceptance guarantee. Anthropic reviews applications and retains discretion over eligibility. Its terms say evaluation can consider business traction, investment and funding, and Claude integration and usage; selection is rolling. The program terms also allow Anthropic to amend or suspend the program.

How to apply and what to expect
- Prepare the application details. Have a Claude Console account, a company-domain email, and a concise description of the product or company ready.
- Apply in Claude Console. Submit the application there and ensure the company meets the published founding-date or funding-date window.
- Wait for review. Anthropic says most applications are decided within minutes; manual reviews usually take two to three business days. Approval remains discretionary.
- Claim applicable benefits after acceptance. Anthropic says the API credit is claimed after acceptance. Existing members can redeem newly listed Startup Stack offers without reapplying.
Approved members also have access to Applied AI office hours and startup community events. Anthropic describes the office hours as 45-minute sessions every other week; event access and availability are governed by the program page.
How the API credit works
The standard program credit is a one-time $1,000 for the first-party Claude API through Claude Console. It cannot be applied to API use routed through AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI or other third-party platforms, and it expires six months after grant. Members who receive program credits automatically get higher API rate limits, according to Anthropic.
There may be a separate route to additional credits: founders backed by a venture capital firm in Anthropic’s partner network may be able to claim up to $100,000 in additional API credits through that VC. This is not part of the standard award and is not described as available to all applicants. Check with the relevant investor and the program page for current details.

The headline maximum is less informative than whether the benefits match how a company operates. Before applying, check these points:

- Team eligibility: Is the organization new to Claude Team? The free year is conditioned on that status.
- API route: Does the product use Claude through Anthropic’s API in Claude Console, rather than through a cloud reseller?
- Partner fit: Are the current Startup Stack tools relevant, and does the company meet each partner’s terms?
- Separate VC route: Is the startup backed by a VC in Anthropic’s partner network that can confirm eligibility for the additional credit pathway?
For a startup that is new to Team and expects to use the first-party Claude API, the Claude benefits may have direct utility. The partner Stack can add value where its specific software offers fit the company’s needs. Neither advertised maximum should be treated as money every accepted applicant will receive.
