The stated 400 ANSI lumens is a useful reference, but it does not promise the same viewing experience in every room or at every image size. Ambient light and a larger projected picture both make brightness more consequential. This rating points toward use in a darkened or dim room rather than a setup that must compete with daylight or strong room lighting. Anker’s specifications do not establish a particular image quality in a specific environment, so treat outdoor use as conditional: a dark evening and a modest image are more favorable than a bright setting or a very large projection.

What Hi-Fi’s 2026 projector roundup reports that its review testing found a sharp, detailed image and describes the picture as “punchy.” That is the publication’s assessment, not a measurement made for this article; the available coverage does not give controlled comparative brightness results. How large an image can it project, and how much space does it need?
Anker specifies an image size from 30 to 150 inches, a 1.2:1 throw ratio and a throw distance of 0.8 to 4.0 metres. The size range is not a guarantee that every room can accommodate the largest image: the projector needs suitable distance and a clear projection area. Check the intended placement against the room before buying, especially if you plan to use a fixed screen or place the projector behind seating.

Anker advertises up to 2.5 hours of movie playback and up to 8 hours of music playback on a full charge. These are published maximums; the available product information does not state the playback mode, brightness or sound level used to establish them. No independent battery measurement is established here, so do not plan around either maximum as a guaranteed runtime. For longer viewing, arrange access to power.

Can you stream without another device, and what can you connect?
Google TV and Chromecast make the Mars 3 Air a mostly self-contained streaming projector: you can use its built-in platform without a separate streaming stick, and cast from a compatible device. It also offers physical connections for external playback.
- HDMI: Connect a console, laptop or other HDMI source. An HDMI cable is a useful optional accessory if you do not already have one; it is unnecessary for built-in Google TV apps.

Is the automatic setup useful?
Anker lists automatic focus, keystone correction, screen fit and obstacle avoidance. These features are intended to help adjust the picture when positioning the projector, reducing manual setup work. They do not remove the need to choose a suitable placement: image size still depends on distance, and the projection area should be clear.
