Choose Anime Zero if you want to explore dungeons and control your character through fast-paced action-RPG combat. Choose Vanguards—the current Roblox listing formerly used the name Anime Vanguards—if you would rather summon units, level them, evolve them and defend against enemies, including in modes designed for playing with friends. Neither listing establishes a fair overall winner for fun, balance, grind, performance or value, so the better choice depends on which gameplay loop you actually enjoy.

If you enjoy the feeling of being the character on the field—deciding where to go and responding to enemies in real time—Anime Zero is the more natural starting point. The available description does not specify whether combat uses melee, ranged attacks, cooldowns, dodging, party members or other familiar RPG systems, so those details should be checked in the game itself rather than assumed from the genre label.
Exploration as the main draw
The dungeon-crawler label makes exploration a central part of the pitch. You are not choosing Anime Zero merely for an anime theme; you are choosing it for the promise of moving through dungeon environments and discovering the game’s modes and encounters. The listing says there are multiple game modes, but it does not name them or explain whether they are solo, cooperative, competitive or challenge-based.
That distinction matters if your priority is a particular type of session. A player who wants to wander through levels and fight directly can make a reasonable genre-based choice. Anime Zero’s official Roblox description includes this exact warning: “Anime Zero is currently in active development. As a result, you may encounter bugs, performance issues, or incomplete features.” Treat that as part of the purchase-free decision to play, not as a footnote.
Active development can mean the game changes frequently and that some systems are still being built. It can also mean an individual session is affected by a bug or performance problem. The warning does not prove that every player will experience trouble, and it does not establish how often updates arrive. It does mean you should have a higher tolerance for rough edges than you would for a finished, unchanging release.

Summoning and building a roster
Vanguards is described around summoning units to fight enemies, then leveling and evolving those units. That creates a collection-and-progression loop: your decisions center on which units to obtain, how to strengthen them and how to deploy a developing roster.

This is a different kind of involvement from Anime Zero. Choose Vanguards when planning a team and watching it handle a battle sounds more appealing than controlling a single fighter through a dungeon. Players who like gradual roster improvement may also prefer its explicit emphasis on leveling and evolving units.
Modes designed for friends
Vanguards’ listing specifically mentions multiple modes with friends. That is the clearest social feature in either comparison. Both descriptions use anime as a setting or style, but the genre determines the experience more than the shared theme does. Two anime games can feel completely different when one is an action RPG and the other is a unit-based defense game.
Short-term action versus long-term roster growth
Anime Zero’s advertised loop is about what happens during an encounter: entering a dungeon and fighting quickly. Vanguards makes progression explicit: summon units, level them and evolve them over time. Anime Zero’s listing mentions multiple modes but does not identify their social structure. Vanguards explicitly mentions playing modes with friends. Therefore, Vanguards has the clearer multiplayer signal, while Anime Zero’s solo or cooperative fit remains something you must verify after launching it.
Which game should you choose?
Choose Anime Zero if these statements sound like you
- You want an action RPG rather than a defense-management game.
- You would rather explore dungeons than focus on summoning a roster.
- You enjoy fast-paced, direct combat and are comfortable learning an in-development game.
- You can accept that bugs, performance problems or unfinished features may occur.

- Test a normal session on your own device. Pay attention to crashes, stuttering, loading and controls rather than assuming that one Roblox game’s performance predicts the other’s. Anime Zero’s official warning makes this check especially important.
