Anime Zero Skill Tree Explained: Prerequisites, Nodes, and Weapon-Specific Progression

Anime Zero’s skill tree is a weapon-specific upgrade menu with four branches: Attack, Critical, Defense, and Speed. The right first purchase depends on the problem stopping your runs—not on a universal best build. Attack and Critical address damage, Defense helps when incoming damage ends runs, and Speed helps when movement or positioning is the bottleneck.

The exact node values and access rules below are reported by recent third-party guides, while the official Roblox listing confirms the LY* experience is still in active development. Check the live menu’s token balance and node description before every purchase because costs, effects, and prerequisites can change.

What the Anime Zero skill tree does

The skill tree provides permanent-looking progression choices for an individual weapon. Guides describe four separate branches:

  • Attack: increases attack damage.
  • Critical: increases critical-hit chance.
  • Defense: reduces damage taken.
  • Speed: increases movement speed.

Every branch reportedly begins with a starting node that grants no bonus, followed by four paid nodes. The tree is not described as one shared account-wide pool. Instead, tokens spent on one weapon’s tree reportedly improve that weapon only. Switching weapons therefore changes which progression investment you are using.

That distinction matters more than the headline percentages. A strong Attack purchase on a weapon you rarely equip does not solve a damage problem on your main weapon. Before clicking Buy, confirm that the menu is showing the weapon you intend to use for future runs.

Who confirms these mechanics—and what remains uncertain

The official Roblox listing identifies Anime Zero as a LY* experience and describes it as an anime dungeon crawler RPG. It also says the game is “currently in active development,” warning that players may encounter bugs, performance issues, or incomplete features. The listing does not publish a skill-tree specification, node table, token schedule, or weapon-progression rule.

The access instructions, token sources, branch effects, and prices in this article come from guides updated by Beebom on October 9, 2026, AllThingsHow on October 10, 2026, and Games.gg on October 12, 2026. Those dates are guide update dates, not confirmed patch dates. Treat the figures as the best currently reported description, then use the in-game interface as the final authority if it differs.

How to open the skill tree

Recent guides report that the tree is available from Level 1 and does not require a separate quest or NPC interaction. The menu is reached from the left side of the game interface through a label such as Skills or Skill Tree. Labels can change during development, so look for the menu showing your weapon’s branches and token balance rather than relying on an exact icon position.

  1. Enter the Anime Zero experience published by LY* on Roblox.
  2. Check that your character is using the weapon you want to develop.
  3. Open the left-side Skills or Skill Tree menu.
  4. Select the weapon-specific tree if the interface presents more than one weapon.
  5. Read the displayed token balance and the text on each locked or purchasable node.

If the menu is missing, restart the experience and check again after loading into the main hub. Because the game is actively developed, a temporary interface bug or an incomplete feature is possible. Do not assume that a missing menu means you have failed a hidden quest; current guides report no separate quest prerequisite.

Reported node costs and bonuses

The following values are consistent across the recent Beebom and AllThingsHow guides. They are guide-reported game mechanics, not a developer-published table. Each percentage is the bonus attached to that node. Do not add the rows together unless the live node text explicitly says the effects stack.

11 Skill Tokens +60% attack damage +15% critical-hit chance 25% less damage taken 25% faster movement

For example, the 11-token Attack entry is reported as a 60% attack-damage bonus for that node; it is not automatically “15% + 25% + 40% + 60%” unless Anime Zero’s current interface explicitly describes cumulative stacking. The same caution applies to every branch.

How prerequisites and progression reportedly work

Level requirement

Guides report access from Level 1. No higher character level, quest completion, boss clear, or NPC conversation is listed as a prerequisite. If your current interface shows a different requirement, follow the live requirement because the official listing warns that features can change.

How Skill Tokens are earned

Reported token sources are leveling up and using the corresponding weapon during runs. The weapon detail is important: progress earned while using one weapon is reported to feed that weapon’s tree, not every tree on the account. The interface’s displayed balance should settle any uncertainty about whether a particular run awarded tokens.

The practical progression loop

  1. Choose a main weapon. Pick the weapon you expect to carry through upcoming runs, not simply the one currently equipped by accident.
  2. Run with that weapon. Use it in combat so the reported weapon-linked progression can accumulate.
  3. Level and check your balance. Open the tree after leveling or a completed run and verify that tokens were credited.
  4. Identify the current failure point. Decide whether enemies take too long to defeat, critical hits are too infrequent, incoming damage ends the run, or movement prevents safe positioning.
  5. Inspect the next node. Confirm its price and exact wording in the live UI rather than relying only on a guide table.
  6. Buy the node that addresses that failure point. Continue using the same weapon so later tokens support the same investment target.

Which branch should you upgrade first?

There is no evidence for one order that is optimal for every player, weapon, stage, or build. The choices below translate the guide recommendations into a decision framework rather than a ranking.

Choose Attack when clears are too slow

Attack is the straightforward damage branch. Guides report increases of 15%, 25%, 40%, and 60% at the listed paid nodes. It is the most direct response when ordinary enemies survive too long, time-limited stages expire, or a boss phase lasts long enough to create additional danger.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Attack is a sensible early test when your problem is clearly damage per hit. Measure the result by the number of attacks or seconds needed to defeat the same type of enemy, but remember that enemy health, weapon scaling, and other abilities can affect the outcome.

Choose Critical when you want a chance-based damage route

Critical reportedly raises critical-hit chance by 3%, 6%, 10%, and 15% at its paid nodes. It can complement a weapon whose critical hits are already valuable, but chance-based gains may feel inconsistent in short encounters. If every run fails because enemies simply take too many hits, Attack is the more direct first experiment; if occasional high-damage hits fit your weapon and play style, Critical is a reasonable alternative.

Choose Defense when survival is the limiting factor

Defense is reported to reduce damage taken by 5%, 10%, 15%, and 25%. Select it when you reach a boss or dense group with adequate damage but lose health too quickly, or when a small positioning mistake ends an otherwise successful run.

Defense does not solve a timer or damage-check problem by itself. If you survive comfortably but cannot defeat enemies before a stage ends, spend toward a damage branch instead.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose Speed when positioning costs you runs

Speed reportedly increases movement speed by 5%, 10%, 15%, and 25%. It is most relevant when dodging, collecting objectives, kiting enemies, or reaching safe positions is the actual barrier. Faster movement can indirectly improve survival and clear time, but it does not directly raise attack damage or reduce incoming hits.

Speed is therefore a situational choice rather than a default upgrade. Use it when you can name a movement problem—such as repeatedly being caught by an area attack—not merely because movement feels useful in general.

How weapon-specific trees change your spending plan

Guides report that each weapon has its own tree. A token spent on Weapon A should not be expected to improve Weapon B. This creates a simple but important planning rule: develop the weapon you intend to keep using.

  • Before a purchase: verify the weapon name or icon in the tree header.
  • After switching weapons: reopen the tree and check whether the purchased node is still active for the newly equipped weapon.
  • When testing a new weapon: expect to build its progression separately unless the live interface explicitly says otherwise.
  • When conserving tokens: avoid spending on a temporary weapon just because it is equipped for one run.

If the game later introduces shared bonuses or refunds, the menu should state that change. Until then, the cautious interpretation of the reported system is separate investment for each weapon.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Assuming guide percentages are cumulative

The table lists the bonus associated with each node. Reading the 1-, 5-, 9-, and 11-token rows as four automatically additive percentages can greatly overstate the effect. Check whether the current node description says “additional,” “total,” or another stacking term before doing any calculation.

Buying for the wrong weapon

Because progression is reported as weapon-specific, confirm the selected weapon immediately before purchase. If the interface has a weapon selector, do not assume it follows your last combat loadout.

Treating a recommendation as a guaranteed meta build

Attack-first and Critical-following advice appears in guides, but it is not an independently tested universal ranking. A player who dies to unavoidable damage has a different priority from one who survives but misses a clear timer. Base the choice on the failure you can observe in your own runs.

Ignoring the live token balance

Prices can change while the experience is in active development. Read the balance and the node’s current cost in the menu rather than spending from memory of an older guide.

Confusing this experience with another similarly named game

Use the LY* Roblox listing and the anime dungeon-crawler context to identify the intended Anime Zero. A different experience with the same or similar name may have entirely different menus and progression.

A safe spending checklist

  • Am I in the LY* Anime Zero experience?
  • Is this the weapon I plan to use for several upcoming runs?
  • What specifically is failing: damage, critical consistency, survival, or movement?
  • Does the node text match the reported effect and price?
  • Do I have enough tokens without spending the balance needed for a more relevant node?
  • Does the interface indicate that this bonus is cumulative, replacing, or limited to the selected weapon?

Following this checklist prevents the two most expensive errors: investing in the wrong weapon and buying a bonus that does not address the reason your run failed.

What to do if the tree or tokens do not behave as expected

The Skills menu is absent

Reload the experience, return to the main hub, and look again for a left-side Skills or Skill Tree entry. If it remains absent, the feature may be temporarily unavailable or changed in an update. The reported Level 1 access rule does not guarantee that every server will display the same interface during active development.

A run did not award tokens

Check that you used the weapon whose tree you are viewing, then compare the balance before and after another completed run or level-up. A delayed UI update, a failed run, or a weapon-selection mismatch can make progression appear missing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The displayed bonus differs from a guide

Use the live node description as the current value and treat the guide figure as outdated for your version. Record the node name, cost, and effect before purchasing if you need to compare later; do not assume the older percentage still applies.

A purchased node appears inactive after changing weapons

Re-equip the original weapon and reopen its tree. Separate weapon progression is the reported behavior, so the bonus may be active only on the weapon for which it was purchased.

Bottom line for choosing your first node

Open the tree at Level 1 through the left-side Skills or Skill Tree menu, confirm the weapon, and spend tokens earned from leveling and weapon use on the weakness that actually ends your runs. Attack is the direct response to slow clears, Critical is a chance-based damage option, Defense is for survival failures, and Speed is for movement and positioning. The four-branch structure and reported 1-, 5-, 9-, and 11-token values are useful planning information, but the active in-game node text takes priority because Anime Zero is still being developed.
