Motorola lists Android 17 as the next operating system for the motorola razr ultra – 2026, but its support page does not give a rollout date. So Android 17 is on the phone’s upgrade path; that listing alone does not mean the update is available to install now.
Will the Motorola Razr Ultra (2026) get Android 17?
Yes. Motorola’s U.S. support page identifies the phone as having launched with Android 16 and lists “Next OS: Android 17.” That is the clearest device-specific confirmation currently provided by Motorola.

Motorola says the Android 16 upgrade for this model began on February 25, 2026. That is the start date Motorola lists, not evidence that every phone received Android 16 on that day.

Google announced Android 17 on June 16, 2026, and said it was becoming available on most supported Pixel devices. That platform release is separate from availability on a Motorola phone: Google’s announcement does not confirm that the Razr Ultra (2026) has received the update.

- Universal unlocked: Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other prepaid carriers.
Motorola’s device page provides no model-specific Android 17 rollout date. It also does not establish a complete carrier-by-carrier schedule. Motorola cautions that launch timing and support cycles can differ by region and channel; its software-upgrade page says upgrade information describes current plans, is subject to change, and is not a commitment to deliver an update on a particular date.
How to check for Android 17
- Open the phone’s Settings app.
- Open the software-update section and check for available updates. Motorola links to its software-update instructions from the device support page.
- If Android 17 is not offered, check again later. Availability can vary by region and channel, and Motorola has not published a date for this model.
Do not treat the Android version number as the only sign of update status. To check the security patch level, Motorola specifies Settings → Security & privacy → System & updates.

Motorola says the Razr Ultra (2026) is currently receiving regular security updates, with at least bi-monthly security maintenance releases, and lists September 2030 as the security-update end date. Motorola also notes that support can vary by region and channel; this date is not an Android 17 rollout promise.

What Android 17 changes will the Razr Ultra get?
Google’s Android 17 announcement describes the platform and developer compatibility, but it does not confirm which Android 17 features Motorola will include on this particular phone. Motorola has not provided a complete model-specific list of Android 17 changes in the support information cited here. Features can vary by device and manufacturer, so wait for Motorola’s device-specific update notes before assuming a platform feature will appear on this Razr.
