The clearest quantified snapshot is for Linde, where a Stock Analysis page reporting S&P Global data showed a Buy consensus among 28 analysts, alongside Hold and Sell ratings, and price targets ranging from $400 to $580 around October 2, 2026. Available snapshots show varied rating actions for the other two companies but do not establish complete, like-for-like consensus figures.
What the analyst snapshots show
These are third-party snapshots, not company forecasts or endorsements. Analyst ratings and targets can change, and the sources available here do not provide a complete, consistently calculated comparison across all three companies.

| Company and listing | Published analyst evidence | What can be concluded |
|---|---|---|
| Corteva (NYSE: CTVA) | TipRanks’ dynamic CTVA page surfaced a mix of rating actions and price targets; the available snapshot does not establish a complete rating distribution or a comparable consensus figure. | Analyst views are not uniform in the surfaced actions, but the evidence does not support a quantified bullish-versus-bearish tally. |
| Nine Dragons Paper (Hong Kong: 2689; OTC: NDGPF) | TipRanks’ dynamic page showed several dated Buy recommendations in late September 2026 and a Sell entry dated October 2, 2026. | The visible actions differ in direction and timing; they are not a complete consensus distribution. |
| Linde (Nasdaq: LIN) | A Stock Analysis snapshot around October 2, 2026, reporting S&P Global data, showed a Buy consensus based on 28 analysts, with a low target of $400 and a high target of $580. The snapshot also included Hold and Sell ratings. | Buy was the consensus label in that snapshot, not a unanimous view. The target range is an aggregator-reported analyst estimate, not Linde guidance. |
The target range is expressed in U.S. dollars in the cited LIN snapshot. Do not compare those raw target prices with targets for CTVA or Nine Dragons without matching the listing, currency, share-price date and target methodology; comparable figures for those two companies are not established here.

The three companies do not share a single set of business drivers simply because they are grouped together as materials-related stocks. Their operating context helps explain what analysts may be assessing, but company disclosures are not evidence of analyst consensus.
#1 Best Overall
Corteva: agriculture and a planned separation
Corteva describes itself as a global agriculture company. In its July 30, 2026, second-quarter and first-half results release, the company said it raised its full-year outlook and remained on track for a planned separation, targeting an October 1, 2026, Vylor spin-off date. Its updated 2026 guidance was $4.1 billion to $4.3 billion in non-GAAP Operating EBITDA and $3.60 to $3.80 in Operating EPS. These are management’s dated outlook figures, not analyst estimates or a guarantee of results.
For an investor assessing CTVA, agriculture inputs and crop demand are relevant context; the announced separation is a separate corporate event to monitor. The release describes management’s expectations as of July 30, rather than resolving why individual analysts set different ratings or targets.

Nine Dragons Paper: paper products and coverage-list limits
Nine Dragons Paper operates in paper products. Its investor-relations homepage listed an announcement of annual results for the year ended June 30, 2026, dated September 23, 2026. That is a company-results milestone, not an analyst rating.

The company’s analyst-coverage page names firms and analysts it understands to cover its shares, but warns that the list may be incomplete or out of date. It also says the listed analysts’ views do not necessarily reflect or represent the company’s views or endorsement. The Buy and Sell actions surfaced on the third-party page therefore should be read as individual published recommendations, not as the company’s position.
Linde: industrial gases and engineering
Linde describes itself as a global industrial gases and engineering company. Its July 31, 2026, second-quarter release supplies recent operating context; the company also identifies risks including input costs, currency, regulation and performance in customer industries. Linde reported $34 billion in 2025 sales. These company-reported facts help frame the business but do not explain or validate the opinions in an analyst-rating aggregate.
How to interpret the disagreement
- Consensus is a summary, not unanimity. LIN’s reported Buy consensus coexisted with Hold and Sell ratings in the same snapshot. A consensus label compresses a distribution of views.
- Visible actions are not necessarily the full picture. The available CTVA and Nine Dragons pages surface rating actions, but do not establish a complete, comparable count of Buy, Hold and Sell recommendations.
- Dates matter. Nine Dragons’ surfaced recommendations span late September and October 2, 2026; LIN’s target and consensus snapshot is around October 2. Corteva’s operating update is dated July 30, and Linde’s is dated July 31. An earnings release date and a recommendation date answer different questions.
- Targets are not promises. Analyst targets are estimates at a point in time. The available evidence does not show that any target will be reached.
- Company guidance is not analyst sentiment. Corteva’s raised outlook and planned separation are management statements; Nine Dragons’ results announcement and Linde’s earnings release are company disclosures. None should be presented as a broker recommendation.
What a fair comparison needs
To compare analyst views responsibly, use the same type of evidence for each company and record its date. A useful comparison would include:
Rank #4
- the rating publisher and the number of analysts covered;
- Buy, Hold and Sell counts, rather than consensus labels alone;
- low, average or median, and high targets, with the relevant share-price date and currency;
- the specific listing being analyzed, especially for Nine Dragons, which has a Hong Kong listing and an OTC symbol used in third-party coverage;
- the dates of analyst actions separately from the dates of company results and guidance.
The available snapshots do not establish a uniform rating methodology or a complete target comparison for all three shares. Treat them as dated descriptions of published views, not personalized investment advice.
