AMD reported far more revenue than Arm in their latest reported quarters, while AMD also posted the faster year-over-year growth rate. For the periods available as of October 7, 2026, AMD generated $11.536 billion in Q2 2026 revenue, up 50%; Arm generated $1.289 billion in Q1 of fiscal 2027, up 22%. The quarters ended just three days apart but belong to different fiscal calendars, and the companies earn revenue in different ways.

How much revenue did AMD and Arm report?

AMD’s Q2 2026 ended June 27, 2026; Arm’s Q1 of fiscal 2027 ended June 30, 2026. These are the latest reported quarters available as of October 7, 2026, not matching fiscal quarters.

Company and period Revenue Year-over-year change Reported detail
AMD Q2 2026, ended June 27, 2026 $11.536 billion Up 50% Data Center: $6.7 billion, up 107%; Client and Gaming: $3.8 billion, up 6%; Embedded: $977 million, up 19%. AMD Q2 2026 results
Arm Q1 fiscal 2027, ended June 30, 2026 $1.289 billion Up 22% Royalties: $715 million, up 22%; license and other revenue: $574 million, up 23%. Arm Q1 fiscal 2027 shareholder letter

AMD’s reported quarterly total was about nine times Arm’s. That is a comparison of recognized revenue, not a like-for-like measure of the companies’ scale in a single product category: AMD reports sales across semiconductor segments, while much of Arm’s revenue comes from licensing technology and collecting royalties.

Why AMD and Arm revenue are not directly comparable

AMD sells chips and reports operating segments

AMD’s Data Center segment includes products such as EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs, as well as other data-center compute products. The company attributed the segment’s Q2 growth to demand for EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs. Its $6.7 billion segment total is not an AI-only revenue figure. AMD Q2 2026 results

Arm earns licensing revenue and royalties

Arm licenses processor technology and related intellectual property to customers, then generally earns royalties as customers ship products incorporating that technology. In Q1 fiscal 2027, Arm reported $574 million in license and other revenue and $715 million in royalties. Its quarter’s results retain this established licensing-and-royalty split even as the company describes the Arm AGI CPU as a new production-silicon route to market. Arm Q1 fiscal 2027 shareholder letter

The two companies’ data-center figures also describe different things. AMD reported a product-based operating segment with a dollar total; Arm said its data-center royalties more than doubled year over year but did not disclose a standalone dollar amount for those royalties in the cited release. Arm’s total royalties cover adoption of its technology across a broader set of applications, not data centers alone. AMD Q2 2026 results Arm Q1 fiscal 2027 shareholder letter

Is Arm revenue growing faster than AMD?

In the latest reported quarter for each company, AMD’s total revenue grew faster year over year: 50%, compared with Arm’s 22%. The reporting periods are offset—AMD fiscal Q2 and Arm fiscal Q1—so this is a comparison of each company’s own year-over-year rate, not a synchronized-quarter growth test.

The growth rates should also be read alongside the revenue models and reported segments. AMD’s Data Center segment rose 107% year over year, while Client and Gaming grew 6% and Embedded grew 19%. Arm’s license and other revenue increased 23%, and royalties increased 22%. The reported figures show strong data-center momentum at AMD and growth in both principal revenue streams at Arm; they do not establish which business has the better long-term trajectory.

What do the annual results add?

Annual figures provide a longer view, but the fiscal-year labels and endpoints differ. AMD’s calendar-year 2025 results and Arm’s fiscal 2026 results should not be treated as reports for the same period.

Company and fiscal period Total revenue Relevant reported detail
AMD 2025 $34.639 billion, versus $25.785 billion in 2024 Data Center revenue was $16.635 billion, versus $12.579 billion in 2024. AMD attributed the segment’s growth mainly to EPYC processors and Instinct GPU accelerators. AMD 2025 full-year results
Arm fiscal 2026 $4.92 billion Royalties contributed $2.61 billion and licensing $2.31 billion. Arm described fiscal 2026 as its third consecutive year since going public with revenue growth above 20%. Arm fiscal 2026 results

These annual totals reinforce the difference in reported scale, but they do not make the business models interchangeable. No growth-rate projection follows from these figures alone.

How much of AMD and Arm revenue comes from AI?

The cited company results do not establish a standalone AI revenue total for either company. AMD reports Data Center as a segment that includes both CPUs and GPUs, not as a separate AI line item. Arm’s license and royalty totals span a broad platform, and the company did not provide a dollar amount for data-center royalties in its cited Q1 release. Therefore, describing AMD’s full Data Center revenue or Arm’s full royalty revenue as “AI revenue” would overstate what the filings report. Arm said its quarterly data-center royalties more than doubled year over year and cited continued adoption, higher royalty rates per chip for technologies such as Armv9 and Arm CSS, and increased deployment of Arm-based chips in data centers. Those statements describe drivers of royalty growth, not an independently itemized AI revenue figure. Arm Q1 fiscal 2027 shareholder letter

What to take from the comparison

  • AMD is larger by reported revenue: it recorded $11.536 billion in its latest quarter, versus Arm’s $1.289 billion in its latest quarter.
  • AMD grew faster in those reported quarters: 50% year over year compared with Arm’s 22%, though the fiscal periods differ.
  • The strongest quantified data-center result is AMD’s: its segment generated $6.7 billion and grew 107% year over year. Arm reported that data-center royalties more than doubled, without stating their dollar total.
  • Neither company’s reported totals equal AI-only revenue: the segment and revenue-stream definitions are broader.

AMD’s Q2 year-over-year gross-margin comparison also reflects the absence of prior-year inventory and related charges associated with U.S. export controls on MI308 products. Revenue growth is therefore a cleaner headline comparison than interpreting margin movement without that context. AMD Q2 2026 Form 10-Q
