AMD has not confirmed a date for revealing RDNA 5 graphics cards, and the available reporting does not establish that a reveal will happen before or after Computex 2027. The timing claim is based on differing expectations from graphics-card manufacturers interviewed at Computex 2026—not a verified statement by a named leaker or an AMD announcement.
What the reported RDNA 5 timing estimates say
Tom’s Hardware summarized conversations that Dutch publication Tweakers held with graphics-card manufacturers at Computex 2026. One manufacturer expected AMD’s next-generation graphics cards in the second or third quarter of 2027. Another thought the launch could slip to late 2027 or early 2028. These are anonymously attributed partner expectations, not a confirmed schedule. Tom’s Hardware’s report also cautions that cards reaching stores can lag an announcement.

| Reported expectation | What it indicates | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 or Q3 2027 | One manufacturer’s expectation for AMD’s next-generation graphics cards, relayed by Tom’s Hardware from Tweakers’ Computex 2026 interviews. | A confirmed RDNA 5 reveal date, or the date cards would be available to buy. |
| Late 2027 or early 2028 | A second manufacturer’s later expectation, as summarized in the same report. | That AMD will definitely delay the reveal until after Computex 2027. |
The estimates point to a broad 2027-or-later window, but they do not settle whether AMD will reveal RDNA 5 before, during, or after Computex 2027. A reveal and retail availability are separate milestones; the reported expectations do not give a firm date for either.

Has AMD confirmed RDNA 5 or a Computex 2027 reveal?
The official AMD material available here does not confirm RDNA 5 timing or a Computex 2027 appearance. AMD’s May 20, 2025 announcement says it launched the Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon AI PRO R9700 at COMPUTEX 2025. AMD’s press release and its COMPUTEX 2025 event page document that past event; they are not a promise about the next generation.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
AMD’s use of COMPUTEX for Radeon announcements in 2025 shows that the event has hosted product launches before. It cannot, by itself, establish that AMD will use the 2027 event for RDNA 5—or avoid it.
Does the Linux driver activity point to an imminent launch?
A September 23, 2026 report said AMD had added GDDR7 identification and other graphics IP blocks to its open-source Linux driver. Tom’s Hardware described the changes as possible preparation for future standalone Radeon products, while noting that they do not imply an imminent launch. The changes, as reported, do not identify RDNA 5 by name or provide a reveal date. Read the report on the driver changes.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
Driver development can be a clue that future hardware is being prepared, but it is indirect evidence. It does not resolve the conflicting partner estimates or verify a Computex 2027 appearance.
Is this really a named leaker’s claim?
The available account attributes the timing windows to anonymous graphics-card manufacturers interviewed by Tweakers at Computex 2026, with the report summarized by Tom’s Hardware. It does not identify a named leaker or provide a verified, direct statement from one. Calling the estimates a specific leaker’s claim would go beyond what these sources establish.
