Tom’s Hardware reported on October 6, 2026, that the Asus ATS Radeon RX 9070 GRE was listed on Amazon for $529.99—$19.01 below the card’s reported $549 launch MSRP. The deal report’s headline rounds the offer to $529. That is a dated report, not confirmation that the price or stock is still available; check the live listing before buying.

What the reported $529.99 deal means

The price applies to the Asus ATS version named in Tom’s Hardware’s October 6 deal report, not automatically to every RX 9070 GRE model. The same report gave a 30-day observed price range of $529.99 to $589.99 and a maximum list price of $789.99, which it characterized as less representative of recent sales. These are figures reported in that article, not a continuously updated price tracker or a current quote. Tom’s Hardware’s October 6 deal report also disclosed that it may earn an affiliate commission from purchases through its links.

The launch-price comparison has a specific baseline: Tom’s Hardware reported a $549 global retail launch price when AMD made the previously China-exclusive card globally available on June 2, 2026. The reported $529.99 offer is below that launch reference, but the comparison alone does not establish how it stacks up against today’s prices for competing cards. Tom’s Hardware’s June 1 launch report gives the date and price.

What the RX 9070 GRE offers

AMD lists the RX 9070 GRE as a desktop Radeon RX 9000-series graphics card with 48 compute units, 48 ray accelerators, 96 AI accelerators, a 2220 MHz game frequency, 48 MB of Infinity Cache and up to 12 GB of memory. The deal report specifies 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus, running at 18 Gbps for 432 GB/s of bandwidth. AMD’s series specifications are on its official Radeon graphics cards page.

  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
  • 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance

On its model page, AMD lists a boost frequency of up to 2790 MHz, 3072 stream processors, 220W typical board power, PCIe 5.0 x16, and DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b. It recommends a minimum 650W power supply and lists two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors. AMD lists support for Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 64-bit and Linux x86 64-bit. These are manufacturer-stated specifications and capabilities; they do not guarantee compatibility with every system. Check the exact card’s connectors, dimensions and clearance requirements, since cooling, size and factory clocks can differ across board-partner versions. See AMD’s RX 9070 GRE product page.

How it fits between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070

Tom’s Hardware described the GRE at launch as a bridge between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070. Its reported configuration has 48 compute units, compared with 56 in the RX 9070 and 64 in the RX 9070 XT; the GRE has 12 GB of memory, while the two higher models have 16 GB. That places the GRE below those cards in the cited core and memory counts, but those specifications alone do not settle which is the better buy. Compare current prices, independent performance results, power requirements and the resolution and settings you plan to use.

  • Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs

Memory capacity is relevant to demanding games and settings. Tom’s Hardware said the GRE’s 12 GB may constrain higher settings at 1440p; that is the outlet’s assessment, not a universal limit or a guarantee of a particular game’s performance.

What published gaming results do—and don’t—show

AMD’s official product page reports 1440p results of 100 FPS in Arc Raiders, 115 FPS in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, 82 FPS in The Last of Us: Part 2 and 86 FPS in Horizon Forbidden West. AMD says its May 2026 testing used a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory, Windows 11 Pro, an X870E motherboard and driver 26.5.2, and compared the RX 9070 GRE 12 GB at 1440p across eight named games. These are AMD’s own lab results, not independent measurements; game performance can vary with system configuration, settings and software versions.

Separately, Tom’s Hardware reported averages of about 120 FPS at 1080p and 86.6 FPS at 1440p in its 11-game raster-only suite. Those figures belong to that outlet’s review testing and should not be treated as directly interchangeable with AMD’s vendor results.

Check these details before buying

  • Live price and stock: Confirm the current amount, seller, availability and shipping on the retailer listing; the $529.99 figure was reported on October 6, 2026.
  • Exact model: Verify that the listing is for the Asus ATS RX 9070 GRE if you are comparing it with the reported deal. A different manufacturer’s card may have different dimensions, cooling and factory clock specifications.
  • Power and fit: Compare your power supply and available case space with the exact card’s requirements. AMD’s model-page guidance is a 650W minimum PSU and two 8-pin connectors.
  • Purchase terms: Review the listing’s return policy and seller details before checkout; these depend on the retailer and offer.
  • Use case: Decide whether the card’s 12 GB memory capacity and the performance evidence available for your target games and resolution meet your needs. Do not infer a guaranteed frame rate from either vendor or review averages.
