How to find Amazon’s About You page
In the Amazon Shopping app
- Open the Amazon Shopping app and tap Me.
- Tap your name.
- Tap About You.
On a desktop browser
- Hover over your name above Account & Lists.
- Open your name or Who’s shopping?.
- Select the profile you want to inspect, then choose About You.
Amazon’s May 13, 2026 announcement also lists mobile web. It does not give a complete country or account-eligibility list, so the option may not appear for every customer. If you cannot find it in the announced locations, a route reported by Fast Company on October 6, 2026 is Account → Account settings → Shopping preferences → Manage your information under About You. What About You shows—and what you can do with it
Amazon describes About You as a place to review details that shape shopping recommendations. The page brings together controls that were previously available through recommendation preferences or browsing-history editing. Amazon says you can share preferences, give feedback to update specific details, or remove information you do not want used for personalization.

What Amazon says can shape shopping personalization
In its May 13, 2026 announcement, Amazon names purchase history, conversations with Alexa for Shopping, product reviews you have authored, items saved to Lists, and searches as information used to personalize the shopping experience. Amazon’s feature announcement
That list is about shopping personalization, not everything Amazon may collect. The U.S. Privacy Notice, last updated June 30, 2026, describes broader categories of activity and information, including searches and orders, reviews, account and profile information, and voice recordings when customers speak to Alexa. It also describes settings and opt-outs for certain uses; those broader privacy controls are distinct from the About You profile controls.

How to interpret a surprising interest or profile detail
Recent coverage has described users encountering profile statements they found bizarre or inaccurate. Those are reported individual experiences, not evidence that every Amazon customer sees the same kind of entry or that a displayed detail has been independently verified. About You versus broader privacy controls
About You is focused on details Amazon says inform shopping recommendations. The Privacy Notice covers wider data practices and points to settings for certain uses. The available sources do not define the full effect of removing an About You detail on its underlying source data or on other personalization systems, so do not treat profile removal as a comprehensive data-deletion request or a universal personalization opt-out.
Amazon’s company privacy page states that it “never sell[s] our customers’ personal data”; that is Amazon’s stated position, not an independent verification of every aspect of its data practices. Amazon Privacy
