These are Airthings’ stated figures, not results from an independent head-to-head test. Radon readings therefore should not be treated as immediate, definitive measurements of a home’s long-term exposure.

The Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor is a real Alexa-oriented product: Amazon’s support material covers setup in the Alexa app and device groups. The official safety and compliance page identifies it as model P3A7EN and specifies a 5V/1A rating and an operating temperature range of 0–35°C.

Readings on the device and in the app
View Plus has a customizable e-ink display that can show up to four readings, so you can check selected values without opening your phone. The Airthings app is still required for initial setup, alerts, and trend data. The product page also lists Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT compatibility.

Battery or USB-C operation
The monitor can run on six AA batteries or USB-C power. Airthings’ up-to-two-year battery-life claim is conditional on factors including Wi-Fi/router conditions and sensor interval; it is not a guaranteed runtime for every home. When powered by USB-C, View Plus can serve as a hub for compatible Airthings Wave monitors, a useful distinction if you already use devices in that family.
Allow time for readings to settle
Airthings’ View series specifications describe a five-minute sensor sampling interval and an initial calibration period of about seven days for VOC and CO2. The series sheet lists CO2 at 400–5,000 ppm and PM2.5 at 0–200 μg/m³, with detection from 300 nm to 10 μm. The current View Plus product page gives different PM2.5 range and CO2 accuracy detail, so these dated series-sheet figures should not be combined with current product-page figures as if they were one unified specification. Neither monitor replaces a carbon monoxide alarm
Amazon states that its Smart Air Quality Monitor “is not a substitute for a carbon monoxide alarm, and is not certified as a CO alarm or CO detector, according to applicable regulatory requirements.” Do not use it in place of a certified CO alarm. An indoor air monitor’s readings and notifications serve a different purpose from a life-safety alarm.

The available material likewise does not establish View Plus as a life-safety alarm. Use dedicated, appropriately certified alarms for hazards that require them, and follow their installation and maintenance instructions.
