For a full year at the listed standard rates, annual billing is cheaper: 12 monthly payments total $179.88, compared with $139 for the annual plan. That is an arithmetic difference of $40.88, not a separate Amazon-published savings claim. Dividing $139 by 12 gives an effective cost of about $11.58 per month, but the annual fee is paid as one yearly charge.

What does an Amazon Prime membership include?
Amazon’s U.S. benefits overview lists fast delivery, Prime Video, Amazon Music, Amazon Luna cloud gaming, a selection of ebooks, audiobooks, comics and manga, Amazon Photos, grocery benefits, Prime Day deals and prescription benefits. The specific selection, eligibility and availability depend on the benefit and location.
- Delivery: Eligible items can receive Prime delivery. Same-Day Delivery is available only in most areas; Amazon describes it for orders over $25. Speed, eligible products and location matter.
- Video and music: Membership includes access to Prime Video’s “Included with Prime” catalog and Prime Music. Amazon’s benefits page says Prime Music offers shuffle access to over 100 million songs; the listening mode and catalog terms are part of the benefit.
- Gaming and reading: Amazon Luna and selected digital reading titles are included in the benefits mix. Catalogs can change; Amazon’s 2026 Prime Day information page described Luna’s evolving library as having more than 50 games.
- Photos: Amazon describes Prime Photos as unlimited full-resolution photo storage plus 5 GB of video storage.
- Other benefits: Grocery savings and delivery, Prime Day deals and prescription benefits are among the listed perks, but terms and service availability vary.
Amazon’s 2026 Prime Day information page says Prime delivery covers more than 300 million items in the U.S.; that is an Amazon-reported catalog figure, not a promise that every item is available for every address or delivery speed. Likewise, Amazon’s promotional benefit estimates or member-average savings are not guaranteed individual savings. A useful value check is whether you will actually use the delivery, entertainment, storage or other services.

Which Prime Video charges are extra?
Prime Video is not an all-access pass to every title shown in the app. Look for the “Included with Prime” label to identify titles covered by membership. Amazon also offers content and services that carry separate charges.

Amazon confirms that add-on subscriptions cost extra and that customers choose which ones to subscribe to; see its Prime Video add-on subscriptions help page and Prime Video channel information. The price is attached to the particular offer, so review that offer rather than assuming a channel is included in Prime.

Is Prime Video ad-free with Prime?
No. Amazon’s signup help material says Prime Video titles include limited advertisements by default. The optional ad-free upgrade is currently called Prime Video Ultra. Amazon says Ultra removes ads from on-demand Prime movies and shows for linked profiles, but it does not remove every ad in the service.
- Trailers may still appear.
- Live TV, sports and events may carry ads.
- Some select ad-supported titles and some add-on subscriptions may still include advertising.
- Annual Prime payers may select monthly or annual Ultra billing; other eligible Prime Video subscribers have only a monthly option.
Amazon’s Prime Video Ultra help page explains the upgrade and billing options but does not state a current U.S. price. Check the live offer in your account before subscribing rather than relying on an older quoted price.

Are other Amazon services included?
Some services promoted alongside Prime benefits are separate optional products or subscriptions. Examples include Music Unlimited, Kids+, One Medical and RxPass. Their price, availability and eligibility are separate from the base Prime fee and may change; check the specific Amazon offer for current terms before signing up.
