Amazon says the U.S. event lasts 48 hours: it starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, October 6, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, October 7. These are Pacific Daylight Time schedule times. Amazon says members in 22 countries can shop the event, but dates may vary by country, so shoppers outside the U.S. should check their local Amazon storefront for its schedule. Who can shop the event?
Prime Big Deal Days offers are exclusive to Prime members, according to Amazon’s event FAQ. The FAQ lists U.S. membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year; check the current membership terms and price before signing up, since these details can change.
How do the deal drops work?
Amazon says “Today’s Big Deals” are scheduled to drop three times daily, at midnight, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. PDT. The company says offers are available only while supplies last, so a deal may sell out before the next scheduled drop. How to judge whether an offer is worthwhile
- Check the item’s price history. Amazon says the Price History link on a product detail page shows up to 365 days of pricing data. Use it to compare the offer with the product’s earlier prices rather than treating a displayed discount as proof of a bargain. Amazon’s event FAQ
- Read the offer terms. Confirm eligibility and any conditions shown on the listing, including whether the deal is limited to Prime members.
- Check stock and delivery. Offers may end when supplies run out; confirm availability and the delivery date for your location before buying.
- Compare the price with your actual need. A seasonal item is only useful savings if it suits the Halloween, hosting or holiday purchase you planned.
Amazon also recommends using Alexa for Shopping for deal alerts and browsing its Holiday Shop. These are Amazon-provided tools and destinations; availability and item-level offers should be checked in the relevant storefront.
What does Amazon mean by “lowest price of the year”?
In its September 14, 2026 press announcement, Amazon said more than one million items were at their lowest price of the year “so far.” That is Amazon’s promotional claim; the announcement does not provide an independent market-wide price comparison.
