Pinterest has appointed James Dibbo, an Amazon finance executive, as its next chief financial officer. The change takes effect October 26, 2026: Dibbo will succeed Julia Brau Donnelly, who will remain in an advisory role through October 30 to support the handoff.
Who is Pinterest’s incoming CFO?
James Dibbo is joining Pinterest from Amazon, where he most recently served as Vice President and CFO for Global Entertainment, Advertising and Corporate Development. Pinterest announced his appointment on October 5, 2026, and says he will report to CEO Bill Ready.

Dibbo’s appointment becomes effective October 26, 2026. Donnelly ceases to serve as CFO that day and will remain with Pinterest in an advisory capacity through October 30 to support an orderly transition. Pinterest announced Donnelly as CFO in May 2023, after she joined from Wayfair, where she had been Vice President and Global Head of Finance and Accounting. Pinterest’s 2023 announcement described her remit as leading financial management and related teams.
What will Dibbo oversee at Pinterest?
Pinterest says Dibbo will lead its global finance organization, including finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, treasury, tax, business and corporate development, internal audit, and workplace. The scope combines core financial functions with development and workplace responsibilities.
What experience is Pinterest citing?
Before Amazon, Pinterest says Dibbo was CFO of P.F. Chang’s and held senior finance leadership roles at Tesco and BT Group. He began his finance career at PwC in London. Pinterest says he holds a B.S. in Economics from Cardiff University and is a Chartered Accountant (FCA).

The mix of roles spans consumer operations, advertising, entertainment and media, and corporate development. In its announcement, Ready said Dibbo had led complex global businesses and understood the intersection of consumer experience, shopping, advertising and technology. Those are the CEO’s reasons for welcoming the appointment, not an independent assessment of its likely financial effect.
What Pinterest and Dibbo said about the appointment
Ready called Dibbo “an exceptional finance leader” with “operating rigor, strategic range and a growth mindset.” Dibbo said he had long admired Pinterest’s role at the intersection of visual search, shopping and advertising, and said he was excited to join the company and invest thoughtfully for the future. These comments come from Pinterest’s announcement; neither establishes a quantified forecast for the appointment’s impact.

Reuters independently reported Dibbo’s appointment and October 26 effective date, placing the move in the context of competition in digital advertising. The Information also reported the appointment and described it as part of broader executive changes. That context is separate from Pinterest’s announcement. The available statements and reports confirm the leadership change and career details, but do not quantify how it may affect Pinterest’s financial results.
