Amazon announced two Bee personal-AI devices on October 15, 2026: Bee Eclipse, a slim credit-card-sized unit that magnetically attaches to a phone, and Bee Frontier, a wrist-worn or clothing-clipped device. Both turn enabled conversations into summaries, recaps, reminders, to-dos and drafted follow-ups.
The “listens to everything” description needs a privacy qualification. Bee is designed for ambient listening while switched on, but Amazon says raw audio is processed in real time and deleted rather than stored. A physical button controls listening, and an LED indicates when the device is active.

What Amazon announced
Bee is a personal-AI system built around dedicated microphones rather than a conventional phone app. When enabled, it captures conversational context and converts it into useful outputs such as summaries, recaps, reminders, insights, drafted follow-up emails and calendar invitations.
Bee Eclipse
Bee Eclipse is about the size of a credit card and attaches magnetically to the back of a phone. Amazon says it starts at $99.99 and will be available soon; the announcement did not provide a firm shipping date.

Bee Frontier
Bee Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. It is listed at $74.99 and is the model Amazon makes available first. Frontier has IP67 water resistance, USB-C charging and dual microphones with noise filtering. Amazon rates its battery for up to seven days.
How Bee turns conversations into actions
With Bee enabled, the system extracts context from speech instead of requiring the user to dictate a note or manually enter a task. Depending on the account and connected services, it can produce:
- Conversation summaries and recaps
- Suggested to-dos and reminders
- Daily memories and longer-term insights
- Drafted follow-up emails
- Calendar invitations
- A personal chat assistant that can answer questions about captured information
Bee can connect with Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple HealthKit and photos. Alexa+ and Amazon.com are also supported connections. The Amazon.com connection is opt-in and can surface products mentioned in a conversation as shopping recommendations.

Amazon’s documented claim is specific: “No audio is ever stored. Audio is processed into insights in real time and deleted after processing.” In a separate statement on October 15, 2026, Amazon Staff wrote: “Bee is private—audio is processed in real time then deleted, and customers have control of their data.”

That means Bee still handles raw audio while it is listening; deletion occurs after real-time processing. Amazon also says transcripts are encrypted with keys controlled by the user’s device.
- A button turns each device on or off.
- An LED signals when the device is active.
- Phone-call recording requires a prompt to obtain permission from participants each time recording starts.
Anyone considering Bee for shared offices, homes or public settings should still tell nearby people that an enabled recorder is operating. Amazon’s storage statement does not remove the need to follow local recording and consent laws.

Bee Eclipse versus Bee Frontier
Choose Eclipse if phone mounting and long battery life matter most
Eclipse is the smaller, phone-centered option. Its magnetic attachment keeps the device with a handset, and its stated battery life of more than 21 days is substantially longer than Frontier’s up-to-seven-day rating. The trade-off is timing: Eclipse is not yet generally available and starts at a higher price.
Choose Frontier if you want a wearable or clip-on device now
Frontier is designed to follow you independently of where your phone is mounted or carried. Its IP67 rating, USB-C charging and noise-filtering microphones make it the more practical choice for clothing or wrist use, provided a weekly charging routine is acceptable.

What “listens to everything” gets right—and wrong
The phrase captures Bee’s ambient-listening design: once enabled, it is intended to hear conversations without the user pressing a record button for every sentence. It does not establish that Amazon keeps an always-on archive. Amazon says listening is controlled by the device button, activity is shown by an LED, and processed audio is deleted.
Users should distinguish three separate questions before buying: whether the microphone is enabled, whether raw audio is retained, and how long resulting memories remain available. Bee’s free tier keeps memories for 14 days; Pro expands the service with ongoing memory features, but Amazon’s announcement does not describe an unlimited retention period for every data type.

- Will everyone who may be recorded understand when Bee is active?
- Is a $11.99 monthly Pro subscription worthwhile for integrations, daily memories and the desktop app?
- Do you need a wearable device immediately, or can you wait for Eclipse?
- Is seven-day or more-than-21-day battery life a better fit for your routine?
- Do you want Amazon.com shopping suggestions, and are you comfortable opting into that connection?
The Bottom Line
Bee Frontier is the $74.99 wearable available now, while Bee Eclipse is the $99.99-and-up magnetic phone device coming soon. Both are enabled ambient listeners, not permanent audio archives according to Amazon: audio is processed in real time and deleted, with physical controls and an activity light.
