There is no universal winner. Choose the exact arm that matches your monitor’s real weight, VESA pattern, desk thickness, number of screens and required movement. The available Amazon Basics documentation covers an older dual-monitor arm, while VIVO publishes specifications for several distinct models. That makes a model-to-model fit check more reliable than a brand-wide verdict.
What the comparison can—and cannot—establish
“Amazon Basics versus VIVO” sounds like a two-brand contest, but the evidence is not symmetrical. The Amazon-hosted document available for comparison is a 2017-imprinted manual for a dual monitor display mounting arm. It states a maximum load capacity of 10 kg, warns that the desk or mounting surface must support the combined weight of the mount and displays, advises users to check joint screws periodically, and directs owners to Amazon for warranty information. It does not identify a currently sold single-monitor model, publish a current price, or provide enough model-matched information to compare it directly with one particular VIVO arm.

VIVO’s official product pages describe several different mounts. Their capacities, desk limits and intended setups are not interchangeable. A VIVO model name that looks similar to another can still represent a different arm, so verify the complete model suffix before ordering.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The practical result is straightforward: treat the Amazon Basics manual as evidence about that specific dual arm only, and evaluate VIVO by the exact model number. Do not transfer one model’s load rating, screen-size range or warranty to an entire brand.

Screen-size numbers are not substitutes for weight limits. A large, light display can fit a rating that a smaller, heavier display cannot, and the STAND-V101BB publishes different limits for flat and curved screens. The Amazon Basics manual’s 10 kg figure must not be divided between two screens unless the exact product documentation explicitly says it is a per-screen limit.
Start with the monitor, not the brand
1. Weigh the monitor in its mounted configuration
Remove the original stand and record the monitor’s actual weight. Include any accessory that will remain attached to the VESA plate, such as an adapter, webcam bracket or other hardware. Compare that number with the arm’s minimum and maximum range.
- For the STAND-V101BB, the monitor must be at least 4.4 lb. The upper limit is 26.4 lb for a flat screen and 24.2 lb for a curved screen.
- For the STAND-V002O-L, the monitor must be 4.4–19.8 lb, and the laptop tray has a separate 9.9-lb capacity.
- For the STAND-V101, the published limit is 17.6 lb per monitor.
- For the Amazon Basics dual arm documented here, use the exact manual’s 10-kg maximum as a total-capacity warning, not as an assumed 5-kg-per-screen allowance.
If the monitor is outside the stated range, do not rely on tightening a screw or reducing the extension to make the arm safe. Select a model whose published range contains the measured weight.

2. Check the VESA holes
Look at the four mounting holes on the back of the display and measure the horizontal and vertical spacing. The three cited VIVO models accept 75×75-mm or 100×100-mm patterns. A display with a different pattern may need a compatible adapter, but an adapter adds weight and changes the fit; include it in your load calculation and verify that the arm’s instructions permit it. The cited Amazon Basics manual does not state its VESA patterns, so obtain the exact manual or listing before assuming compatibility.
3. Measure the desk and inspect the mounting edge
Measure the desk thickness where the clamp will sit, not just the thickness at the center of the desktop. Check for a beveled edge, rear cable channel, reinforcement bar or wall that could prevent the clamp from seating fully. If you plan to use a grommet, measure the hole diameter and ensure there is enough clear space beneath it for the hardware.

We offer two desk mounting options: C-clamp mounting for desks 0.39″–2.56″ thick, or grommet base mounting for desks 0.39″–2.95″ thick.
- STAND-V101BB accepts desktops from 0.4 to 2 inches thick for its clamp or grommet installation.
- STAND-V002O-L accepts 0.4–3.1 inches with its C-clamp and 0.4–1.9 inches through a grommet.
- STAND-V101 lists a maximum desktop thickness of 3.25 inches and supports clamp or grommet mounting.
- The cited Amazon Basics manual does not state a desk-thickness or grommet range. Confirm those dimensions for the exact arm.
A desk can be within the nominal thickness range and still be unsuitable if its material flexes, its edge is damaged or its underside cannot bear the clamp pressure. The Amazon Basics manual expressly says the mounting surface must support the combined mount-and-display weight; that is a sensible check for any arm.
Choose the movement range you actually need
Single-screen workstations
A single arm is usually the simpler choice when one display is centered in front of you and rarely moved. The STAND-V101BB is the most spacious of the cited single-monitor options: it supports screens up to 40 inches, extends up to 18.7 inches and offers 9.6 inches of height adjustment. Its published tilt, swivel and rotation ranges also suit a desk where the display must be shared between seated and standing positions or turned toward another person.
The STAND-V101 covers smaller 13–32-inch displays and lists portrait or landscape orientation, cable management, clamp or grommet mounting and adjustment for height, tilt, swivel and rotation. Because the cited details do not give numerical ranges for those movements, confirm the exact adjustment limits if a particular height or reach is critical.
Monitor plus laptop
The STAND-V002O-L is not an ordinary single-monitor arm. Its second support is a tray for a 10–15.6-inch laptop, rated at 9.9 lb. Choose it when the laptop is part of the workstation and you want both devices elevated or positioned from one desk mount. Its monitor capacity is 4.4–19.8 lb, its arm span is 33 inches, and it provides 6.25–16 inches of height positioning, 360° rotation, 180° swivel and +90° to −90° tilt.
Do not compare the laptop tray’s 9.9-lb capacity with a monitor’s VESA load as though they were the same support. They are separate device positions with separate limits.

- Two mounting options : You may choose to use either a C-clamp or grommet mount. For best results, make sure your table meets the following criteria: wood tabletop is recommended; the underside of the tabletop should ideally be free of any beams or panels that may interfere with the installation; the tabletop thickness and grommet mounting can support 0.59"-3.54”.
Dual-monitor layouts
The Amazon Basics document reviewed here is specifically for a dual-monitor mounting arm. That makes it relevant if you need two screens, but it does not establish the current product family, screen-size range, VESA pattern, desk limits or current price. Obtain the exact model number and manual before treating it as a purchase candidate.

How to decide between the cited options
Choose STAND-V101BB when its limits match a large or curved display
This model is the clearest fit for a 17–40-inch screen that falls within its separate flat- or curved-screen weight range, especially when you need substantial extension, 180° rotation or a wide tilt range. It is only suitable when your desk is 0.4–2 inches thick at the mounting point and has a usable clamp or grommet location.
Choose STAND-V002O-L for a monitor-and-laptop desk
Select this model when the laptop tray is an intentional part of the setup. Check both device weights, the tray’s 9.9-lb limit and the different clamp and grommet thickness ranges. Its broader 0.4–3.1-inch C-clamp range may fit a thicker desk than the STAND-V101BB, while its grommet range is narrower at 0.4–1.9 inches.
Choose STAND-V101 for a smaller monitor and portrait flexibility
This is the cited VIVO option for a 13–32-inch display up to 17.6 lb per monitor. It is a sensible candidate for a portrait/landscape workflow or a desk that is too thick for the STAND-V101BB, provided the exact mounting point is no more than 3.25 inches and the VESA pattern matches.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Choose an Amazon Basics arm only after identifying the exact dual model
The available manual supports a dual-screen use case and provides a 10-kg maximum-capacity warning. It does not support a claim that an unspecified current Amazon Basics single arm has the same rating or features. Ask the seller or consult the product-specific manual for VESA spacing, per-screen limits, desk thickness, mounting method, movement ranges, warranty and return terms.
Installation and measurement checklist
- Record the exact model number. Keep the complete suffix, such as STAND-V101BB versus STAND-V101. Similar names do not guarantee identical specifications.
- Measure every device. Weigh each monitor without its original stand, then add any VESA adapter or accessory that will remain mounted. For a laptop tray, weigh the laptop and its case or dock if those will sit on the tray.
- Verify the VESA pattern. Confirm 75×75 mm or 100×100 mm where applicable, and check that the mounting screws supplied or specified by the manual match the display.
- Measure the mounting location. Record desktop thickness, edge clearance and any obstruction below the surface. If using a grommet, measure the hole and inspect the underside before choosing that method.
- Confirm the desk’s structural capacity. The desk must support the arm, all mounted devices and the clamp or grommet forces without excessive flexing. A particleboard edge that crumbles under pressure is not a safe mounting point even when its thickness is within range.
- Assemble from the exact manual. Identify every washer, spacer and screw before attaching the base. Product-specific hardware and order can differ, so do not substitute a generic sequence for the supplied instructions.
- Attach the VESA plate while the display is supported. Keep the screen face protected, use the specified screw length and tighten evenly. Do not force a screw that bottoms out or feels too long.
- Set the arm’s adjustments gradually. Use the adjustment procedure for the exact model, then test the display at the intended height, extension and rotation before routing cables.
- Leave cable slack for movement. A cable pulled tight can prevent rotation, drag the arm downward or unplug the display when the screen is repositioned.
- Inspect after installation. Recheck the clamp or grommet, VESA screws and arm joints after the first adjustment session. The Amazon Basics manual specifically instructs users to check joint screws periodically; applying the same maintenance habit to any articulated arm is prudent.
Common fit and setup problems
The arm sags or rises after the monitor is mounted
First re-weigh the display and accessories and compare the result with the exact model’s range. A curved screen may have a lower permitted maximum than a flat screen on the STAND-V101BB. If the weight is outside the range, replace the arm rather than compensating with excessive force. If the weight is within range, follow the model’s adjustment instructions and confirm that the VESA plate and joints are fully secured.
The clamp will not close securely
Check the measured desk thickness against the model’s clamp range, then inspect for a rear lip, cable tray or beveled edge that prevents full contact. The STAND-V002O-L’s C-clamp and grommet limits are different, so changing mounting methods may solve a thickness mismatch only if the desk has a suitable grommet and falls within that method’s range.
The screen cannot rotate to portrait
Confirm that the exact model lists rotation and that the monitor’s VESA plate is mounted squarely. Check for a wall, shelf or cable bundle blocking the turn. The STAND-V002O-L lists 360° rotation, the STAND-V101BB lists 180° rotation, and the STAND-V101 lists portrait or landscape orientation without a numerical range in the cited details.
The desk flexes or the mount slowly moves
Stop using the setup until the mounting surface is evaluated. Reduce extension only after confirming that the arm remains within its instructions, and do not exceed the stated capacity. A flexible or damaged desk edge can fail even when the display itself is light enough.
Best Value
- Check Desk & Monitor Compatibility: To ensure a proper fit, your monitor must meet these 3 conditions at the same time: First, screen size ranges 13"–32". Second, monitor weight must be between 4.4–15.4 lbs. Third, supports VESA 75×75mm or 100×100mm. Meanwhile, we recommend mounting this arm only on wood desks 0.59"–3.54" thick (other desk types not recommended). Note: If your desk has irregular edges, please choose this monitor arm carefully.
- MechaSpring Arm — Built for 2× Longer Life: Featuring the MechaSpring arm, this VESA monitor mount delivers consistent support over time for dependable performance that lasts. Unlike gas-based designs that may lose pressure, this monitor desk mount helps keep your monitor steady through everyday adjustments, offering up to 2× the service life of conventional mounts. Moreover, with 90% professional-grade metal construction, the single monitor arm delivers strong reliability, day after day.
- LockSteady System — Adjust with Ease, Hold with Strength: With the upgraded system, the monitor mount helps resist screen droop and moves smoothly with just one finger if you adjust screens often. For set-and-forget setups or deep focus work—like designing, coding and data analysis—where the monitor stays in place most of the time, it holds steady right where you leave it for reliable viewing. This monitor stand is also TÜV Rheinland certified and tested at 3x its load for added safety.
- ACA-Endorsed Design for Ergonomic Comfort — Backed by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the desk monitor mount helps reduce neck & back strain by raising your monitor to eye level and fine-tuning it. It transitions smoothly between focused coding, intense gaming and screen sharing during meetings, creating a more comfortable setup for both work and play. Not only does it transform your desk into a professional workstation, but it also supports your health as much as your productivity.
- PrecisionView Window — Tension Adjustment Made Visible: Stop guessing. Start seeing. Unlike a traditional monitor mount where tension is adjusted by feel alone, our integrated PrecisionView window provides instant visual feedback through the yellow indicator movement. You'll know exactly when the tension is perfectly calibrated for your monitor's weight — no more over-tightening or endless trial and error. This professional-grade precision puts you in full control from the first turn.
The product listing does not match the manual
Use the complete model number, compare the seller’s specifications with the manufacturer’s manual and ask for clarification before purchase. This is particularly important for Amazon Basics because the available document is older and dual-monitor-specific, and for VIVO because similarly named models have materially different limits.
Warranty, price and availability checks
Prices, stock, regional warranty terms and even product revisions can change. The cited VIVO pages list three-year warranties for STAND-V101BB and STAND-V002O-L, but confirm that term for your purchase region and the exact revision. The STAND-V101 warranty is not established in the cited model details. The Amazon Basics manual directs users to Amazon for warranty information rather than stating a current term.
Before ordering, save the product page or manual showing the exact SKU and verify:

Do not use the Amazon Basics manual’s 2017 imprint as evidence of current availability, and do not assume a VIVO specification remains unchanged across revisions without checking the current listing.
Bottom line
Pick by fit, not by logo. The STAND-V101BB is the most capable cited single-monitor option for a qualifying large or curved display; the STAND-V002O-L is purpose-built for a monitor plus laptop; and the STAND-V101 suits a smaller monitor with portrait/landscape use. The Amazon Basics evidence applies to an older dual-monitor arm and is insufficient to recommend an unspecified current single-monitor model. Measure the monitor, VESA holes and desk first, then confirm the exact model’s capacity, mounting method, movement range, warranty and current purchase terms.
