But the remote you can locate by asking Alexa is a separate product: Fire TV Remote Plus, which Amazon says is expected in early 2027. The included 2026 remote does not have the locating feature.
What Amazon announced
On September 30, 2026, Amazon announced the Fire TV Stick 4K (2026 release) and a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The stick runs Amazon’s Vega operating system and includes Alexa+ and the new Fire TV experience. Amazon lists its U.S. price at $59.99; that is a list price, not a guarantee of the price currently offered by retailers. Amazon’s announcement gives the product details and launch information.

Amazon says the stick can draw power from a TV’s USB port through the included cable using Direct Power, which can reduce the need for a separate power adapter. Its published specifications include 8 GB of internal storage, a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth Low Energy. Video output is listed up to 2160p at 60 frames per second, with support for HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9 and AV1. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results.
Which Fire TV remote can Alexa find?
There are two different remotes in Amazon’s announcement. The redesigned Fire TV Remote is the one bundled with the new stick; Fire TV Remote Plus is the separate, future remote with Find My Remote.

Redesigned Fire TV Remote: the one included with the stick
The 2026 Fire TV Remote has an asymmetric shape, a flat top and curved weighted bottom, and tactile, indented buttons. Amazon also highlights a distinct metal Home button and a customizable star button. It is also being sold separately. Amazon’s U.S. announcement lists it at $14.99, with shipping in late October. That announcement does not establish compatibility for the standalone new remote with every existing Fire TV device. Amazon Australia says it pairs with Fire TV streaming media players launched from 2019 through October 1, 2026, and lists the separate remote at A$24.95 with shipping from October 22, 2026. Check local listings and device compatibility before buying. Amazon Australia’s announcement provides that regional detail.
Fire TV Remote Plus: the planned findable remote
Fire TV Remote Plus is the remote Amazon says will add aluminum housing, backlit buttons and Find My Remote. Amazon expects it in early 2027, but that timing is a forecast rather than a confirmed retail date; the announcement does not give it a price. To locate it, Amazon’s instruction is: “just say ‘Alexa, find my remote’ and your remote will play a sound and lead you right to it.” The feature can also be invoked using a compatible Alexa device, the Alexa app or the Remote Finder button in the Fire TV mobile app. The command and locating feature refer to Remote Plus, not the redesigned remote shipping with the 2026 stick.

Where and when the new stick is available
Amazon’s U.S. announcement says shipping for the stick begins in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Australia, with additional countries to follow in late October. Its Australian announcement lists the Fire TV Stick 4K at A$129 and says Australian shipping is available. Prices, stock and launch timing can vary by market and may change, so verify the current local listing. Amazon Australia’s announcement gives its local price and availability information.

Which option makes sense?
- Choose the new Fire TV Stick 4K if you want Amazon’s announced 4K streaming device and value the updated remote’s tactile controls. Direct Power may simplify setup when your TV’s USB port can power the stick as intended.
- Consider the redesigned remote separately if you already own a compatible Fire TV player and want the new button layout. Confirm compatibility for your specific device and market before purchase; Amazon’s support information about older remote generations does not prove compatibility for this new standalone remote. Amazon’s remote-compatibility support page covers existing remote generations.
- Wait for Fire TV Remote Plus if sound-based locating is the feature you want. It is the announced option with Find My Remote, but Amazon has not provided a price and its early-2027 timing is not a guaranteed release date.
Amazon says the Home button is pressed across Fire TV devices “over 100 million times per day on average.” That is Amazon’s own usage figure, not an independent usage study. The announcement and regional details do not establish an independent performance comparison with competing streaming devices, so Amazon’s processor, connectivity and format claims should be treated as specifications rather than proof that the stick is faster than alternatives.

What to check before buying

- Check that your television and streaming setup suit the stick’s 4K output and supported formats.
- If using Direct Power, check whether your TV’s USB port can provide suitable power; the announcement does not specify compatibility for every television.
- Do not buy the included 2026 remote expecting Alexa-based locating. That feature is assigned to Fire TV Remote Plus.
