Amaysim’s NBN 25 Intro Price: Why the AU$30 Deal Isn’t the Current Offer

The AU$30 a month introductory price for Amaysim’s NBN 25 plan is no longer the offer on Amaysim’s current plan page. That page, checked on 9 October 2026, lists NBN 25 at AU$60 a month for the first six months, then AU$70 a month. A separate Amaysim page variant advertised the AU$30 sale and said it ended on 13 September. If you were looking at AU$30, you were looking at an expired promotion.

What Amaysim charges for NBN 25 right now

Amaysim’s live NBN 25 pricing has two tiers, depending on whether you hold an active Amaysim mobile SIM.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Customer situation Months 1 to 6 From month 7
Standard NBN 25 plan AU$60 a month AU$70 a month
NBN 25 with an active Amaysim SIM (bundle price) AU$60 a month AU$60 a month

The difference between the two rows is the ongoing price. Customers without an active Amaysim SIM pay AU$70 a month once the introductory period ends. Customers who keep an active Amaysim SIM stay at AU$60 a month. Amaysim’s plan page does not present the bundle price as a one-off discount, so the AU$60 rate is the figure to budget against if you already have or plan to hold an Amaysim mobile service.

On a plain 12-month view, the standard plan costs AU$780 in total (six months at AU$60 plus six months at AU$70). The bundle rate costs AU$720 over the same year. Neither figure includes any setup, modem or activation charges, which the sources reviewed did not establish for this plan, so check the order summary before you pay.

Where the AU$30 figure came from

The AU$30 price appeared on a variant of Amaysim’s NBN page that promoted a sale and stated that it ended on 13 September. Promotions like this are common in the NBN market, and a page can keep showing an old offer for some time after it expires. The reliable test is the price shown at the point of sign-up. If the checkout does not show AU$30, the headline price is not available to you, however it appears elsewhere.

If Amaysim runs another introductory sale, the terms may differ from this one, so treat any new price as a fresh offer to verify rather than a return of the old one.

What the plan is built for

Amaysim describes NBN 25 as a 25 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload plan for one or two people. Its NBN explainer summarises the intended use as: “Great for 1-2 people, basic streaming, general browsing and shopping.” That is the provider’s own positioning, not an independent measurement.

The provider also says actual speeds depend on the service and your equipment, so check the typical busy-period speed shown for your address rather than relying on the headline tier. A household with several people streaming in high definition at the same time, or regular large uploads, is outside the use case Amaysim describes, and a higher tier is the safer choice there.

How the price compares with Spintel

TechRadar’s October 2026 NBN 25 roundup lists Spintel as a comparison point at AU$41 a month for six months, then AU$69.95 a month. Competitor promotions change often, so use these as a benchmark rather than a current quote.

Item Amaysim NBN 25 Spintel (per TechRadar, October 2026)
Introductory price AU$60 a month for six months AU$41 a month for six months
Ongoing price AU$70 a month, or AU$60 with an active Amaysim SIM AU$69.95 a month
First 12 months (before setup or other fees) AU$780 standard, AU$720 with bundle price About AU$665.70 (six months at AU$41 plus six months at AU$69.95)
Bundle conditions Active Amaysim SIM required for AU$60 ongoing Not stated in the roundup
Typical busy-period speeds Check at your address; the 25/8 Mbps tier is the advertised plan speed Not stated in the roundup
Contract and data terms No lock-in contract; unlimited data subject to Fair Go Policy Not stated in the roundup

On headline price alone, Spintel’s introductory rate is lower and its first-year total is roughly AU$55 below Amaysim’s standard NBN 25 path. Amaysim’s AU$60 ongoing rate with an active SIM, however, is cheaper than Spintel’s ongoing rate, so the better deal depends on whether you need a mobile service too.

Who this plan suits

NBN 25 on Amaysim is a sensible choice for one or two people who mainly stream video, browse and shop online, and who either hold an Amaysim SIM or accept the AU$70 ongoing rate. It is a poor fit for a larger household, for regular large uploads, or for anyone who needs the AU$30 price, which is no longer on offer.

The Bottom Line

The AU$30 introductory price is over. Amaysim’s current NBN 25 plan costs AU$60 a month for six months, then AU$70, or AU$60 ongoing with an active Amaysim SIM. Whether it beats a competitor depends on your household’s usage and whether you need a mobile service, so check your address and checkout price before you commit.
