The Last Taxi is a side story in CONTROL Resonant built around seven anomalous taxis, one in each of seven Manhattan zones. Each cab opens a threshold with a visual puzzle. Most thresholds ask you to pick the correct vehicle across three rounds. The Park is the exception: there you repair a stripped taxi instead. After the seventh cab, answer the payphone one more time to close the quest.
Before you start the taxis
Answer the ringing phone before you interact with any puzzle taxi. Guide reporting says the ringing leads you to the alley payphone, where you speak with Mila.

Taxi locations
The table lists each cab by zone, with the landmarks guides use to reach it. Route descriptions for the Central cab differ between guides, so read the note beneath the table before you set out.

Central: which route to take
Guides agree on the landmarks but not on the exact path. One places the cab at the dead end of the alley west of the Patterned Factory, past the Field Office. Another puts it north of the deserted-road checkpoint on the main road. A third describes streets behind the warehouse blocks on the Patterned Factory side. Use the Field Office and Patterned Factory as your anchors, and rely on the minimap: it marks the cab once you are close.

How the taxi thresholds work
- Proximity: Near a taxi, it honks and flashes, and it appears on the map and minimap.
- Entry: Enter through the open door to reach a foggy threshold street with the puzzle.
- Feedback: A correct pick is confirmed with a green traffic light. A wrong pick shows red, and you remain in the threshold.
- Progress: Guides report that rounds you have already completed stay complete after a wrong pick. Leaving or resetting a sequence is a separate action, and the in-game prompts are the reliable guide to it.
Puzzle solutions by visual clue
Identify the puzzle from the clue in front of you before you use any sequence below. Guide reporting says puzzle types can vary between playthroughs, so a zone name alone can point you to the wrong answer. Each answer is keyed to what you see. The solutions come from published guide reporting; if the clue looks different, trust what you observe and confirm your pick with the green light.
Overhead streetlight rhythm
Watch the lamps rather than the cars.
- Round 1: Choose the cab under the only flickering streetlight. The others stay solid.
- Round 2: Choose the cab under the only steady light. The others pulse.
- Round 3: Watch a full cycle and choose the lamp that stutters out of sync.
Front and rear taxi lights
Inspect both ends of the parked vehicles.
- Round 1: Choose the only cab with its headlights on.
- Round 2: Choose the only cab with an illuminated TAXI roof sign.
- Round 3: Choose the vehicle with its headlights and rear lights on at the same time.
Headlight flash rhythm
Watch one complete cycle before choosing.
- Round 1: Choose the headlight that falls out of beat with the others.
- Round 2: Choose the one unique cab that makes a rapid double flash.
- Round 3: Choose the vehicle that never flashes and stays dark.
Proximity-reactive roof signs
These signs respond as Dylan approaches, so the behavior is the clue.

- Round 1: Choose the single sign that is already lit before you approach.
- Round 2: Stand beside the cars. Choose the sign that stays lit while the decoy signs go out.
- Round 3: Approach the wrong cars and look down the line for the distant sign that lights up.
KeenGamer describes a related roof-sign puzzle whose first round uses a ticking signal instead of a pre-lit sign. Follow what you actually see, and confirm the correct taxi with the green light.
Underpass: blackout window
Make every selection during the blackout.
- Round 1: Choose the cab whose roof sign stays lit.
- Round 2: Choose the taxi that goes completely dark.
- Round 3: Choose the cab that is dark while the streetlights are on but flashes its roof sign during the blackout.
Unknown: hand light and shadows
Pick up the portable floodlight and shine it from behind the vehicles so their shadows fall on the wall. Read the silhouette and roofline, not the front lights.

The Park: repairing the taxi
The Park does not ask you to select a vehicle. You clear gray mold and fit matching taxi parts, round by round.

- Round 1: Remove the mold and install the matching yellow hood and trunk lid.
- Round 2: Install two wheels and the yellow hood. Leave the blue hood alone.
- Round 3: Destroy the smaller linked growths before the central mass. Then install the five matching pieces: yellow front hood, TAXI roof sign, yellow front quarter panel, trunk lid, and rear bumper grille.
KeenGamer warns that police lights and a lighter-yellow hood are decoys, so do not fit them.
