There are seven Oni Armaments to collect in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The Oni Bow is a story-required pickup, and Wind-Whipper comes from a story-linked training quest; the other five are optional chests. Collect all seven for the Oni Armory trophy or achievement, and finish any cleanup before the point of no return ahead of the final mission.
The location details below are reported by two game guides, rather than an official Capcom collectible list. Their route cues identify the areas and landmarks to check, but may not establish every chest’s exact position.

Where to find each armament
The Two Celestials: Kiyomizu-dera Temple
During “The Stage is Set at Kiyomizu,” look for the chest associated with the second Thread Genma at the second Oni Gate. This is an optional chest on the story route, so check the area rather than assuming story progression automatically grants the weapon.

- Pre-order Bonuses – Reserve an early copy to receive the “Sealed Curse” sword skin and “Lion Dog” charm as bonuses.
Oni Bow: Oni Refuge
The Oni Bow is in a chest on the main path through Oni Refuge. Both guides classify it as a story-required pickup; include it in your completion count even if your list of optional chests is shorter.
Wind-Whipper: Practice Ground
Complete The Oni’s Apprentice at the Practice Ground. The reward chest follows Ono Takamura’s deflect drill, making this armament a story-linked quest reward rather than one of the optional exploration chests.
Earth-Shakers: Underground Laboratory, Level 4
In Underground Level 4, continue past the fan puzzle. One guide’s route cue is to shoot all four thread spools that turn the fans before crossing the wreckage; check for the optional chest beyond that obstacle.

Firebird Flute: south of Gojo Street
Search the East Spirit Shrine area south of Gojo Street. The guides describe the landmark slightly differently: one places the chest south of Gojo Street, while the other points to the area south of the Gojo Street East Spirit Mirror, where a Rift had been. Use the shrine area and mirror as your route cues.
The Flashing Void: Mount Oe Castle Courtyard
In the Castle Courtyard, look for a small cave opening and slide into it. The chest is easy to overlook if you stay on the obvious route through the courtyard.
Still Water: northeast Swamp of Arashiyama
Check the northeast corner of the Swamp of Arashiyama and follow the optional path there. This is a later-route pickup, so keep it on your cleanup checklist as you progress through the area.

Which armaments are optional, and can you miss them?
The guides classify five armaments as optional chest pickups: The Two Celestials, Earth-Shakers, Firebird Flute, The Flashing Void, and Still Water. The Oni Bow is picked up on the story route, while Wind-Whipper is tied to The Oni’s Apprentice. The practical missable point is the late-game cutoff: the guides say areas remain available for cleanup until the point of no return before the final mission, and advise collecting everything before crossing it.

What each armament is for
The descriptions below are guide-reported mechanics, not results from a controlled comparison. They can help you decide what role to try, but the guides do not establish a measured damage ranking.
- The Two Celestials: Twin daggers associated with drawing extra Yellow Souls.
- Oni Bow: A ranged weapon with standard ammunition and a weak-point mechanic.
- Wind-Whipper: A crowd-control naginata whose whirlwind can interact with nearby flame.
- Earth-Shakers: Twin hammers focused on stamina and armor break rather than ordinary health damage.
- Firebird Flute: A ranged attack that sends firebirds toward nearby enemies.
- The Flashing Void: A lightning spear focused on high single-target health damage.
- Still Water: A sword empowerment associated with Purple Souls and Oni Awakening.
Game and source context
Capcom describes Onimusha: Way of the Sword as a swordplay action game starring Miyamoto Musashi in an Edo-era Kyoto twisted by Malice. Its June 3, 2026 announcement listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and gave September 25, 2026 as the scheduled release date at that time; that announcement is not a current confirmation of release status. Capcom’s press release is useful for game context, but it does not list armament locations. The location checklist above is based on two secondary guides: the fan wiki and AllThingsHow.
