Yes—if your priority is OLED contrast and fast 1440p gaming at the lowest Alienware price. The Alienware AW2726DM launched at $349.99 and combines a 26.7-inch-class 2560×1440 QD-OLED panel with 240Hz refresh and a claimed 0.03ms response time. Its compromises are meaningful: lower brightness than pricier Alienware OLEDs and no integrated USB hub.

What the AW2726DM delivers for $349.99

Windows Central’s May 16, 2026 review positions the AW2726DM as a budget QD-OLED gaming monitor. The 2560×1440 resolution is a practical match for modern gaming PCs: it is sharper than 1080p without demanding the graphics power required by 4K at high frame rates.

  • Refresh rate: 240Hz.
  • Response claim: 0.03ms.
  • Adaptive sync: AMD FreeSync Premium, VESA AdaptiveSync and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility.
  • Panel: 26.7-inch-class QD-OLED.
  • Launch price: $349.99.

That combination makes the monitor especially compelling for shooters, racing games and other titles where smooth motion and low input latency matter. OLED pixels also switch individually, allowing the deep blacks and high perceived contrast that conventional LCD gaming monitors cannot reproduce in the same way.

The brightness trade-off is the real catch

The AW2726DM is not the right choice if your room is very bright or HDR impact is a top priority. Windows Central measured or listed 200 nits maximum SDR brightness and about 400 nits HDR. Those figures are adequate for a normally lit room, but they leave less headroom for bright highlights and daylight viewing than higher-tier models.

#1 Best Overall

For context, the Alienware AW2725D is listed at 250 nits SDR and up to 1,000 nits HDR. The difference is most visible in HDR games and films: the AW2725D can make specular highlights look substantially more forceful, while the AW2726DM puts more emphasis on OLED black levels and motion performance than peak luminance.

AW2726DM versus the other Alienware OLED upgrades

The choice is less about whether OLED is good and more about which compromise fits your games, room and desk.

What you give up compared with the AW2725D

No monitor USB hub

The AW2726DM carries video and audio connections but omits the AW2725D’s USB-B upstream connection and USB-A/USB-C downstream ports. If your monitor is also your keyboard, mouse, webcam or charging hub, that omission can add cable clutter and may require a separate USB hub or dock.

  • 360Hz refresh rate translates to superb motion clarity, empowering players to see and react to in-game situations at high speed.
  • 0.03 ms gray-to-gray minimum response time** virtually eliminates blurring and ghosting and keeps latency to an absolute minimum.
  • Infinite contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 make for deep blacks and stunning brights, all in the same scene.
  • Excellent color performance with DCI-P3 99.3% color coverage and Delta E<2 accuracy for true-to-life visuals.

Less HDR brightness

The roughly 400-nit HDR figure is the largest image-quality concession. Choose the AW2725D instead when HDR highlights, a sunlit room or brighter desktop use matter more than the AW2726DM’s lower entry price.

Lower maximum refresh than the competitive option

The AW2725D reaches 280Hz, while the AW2725DF reaches 360Hz according to Dell’s current product pages. Those modes matter primarily when your PC can consistently render very high frame rates and you play competitively enough to benefit from the extra motion updates. For most players, 240Hz remains a substantial upgrade over 60Hz or 144Hz.

OLED ownership and burn-in coverage

Pixel Refresh is enabled by default on the AW2726DM, according to the review. Let the monitor complete its maintenance cycle rather than repeatedly interrupting it. Dell’s review information also reports a three-year warranty covering burn-in. Warranty terms can differ by country and sales region, so confirm the exact local wording and exclusions before purchase.

Who should buy the AW2726DM?

It is a strong fit when

  • You want OLED contrast at the lowest Alienware entry price.
  • Your room is normally lit rather than flooded with direct sunlight.
  • You play at 1440p and value 240Hz smoothness.
  • You already own a USB hub, dock or motherboard-connected peripherals.

Choose a more expensive model when

  • HDR brightness is central to your games and media.
  • You need built-in USB-A and USB-C ports at the display.
  • You compete at frame rates high enough to justify 280Hz or 360Hz.

Buying checklist for 2026

  1. Verify the current selling price: $349.99 was the AW2726DM launch price, not a guaranteed 2026 street price.
  2. Measure your room lighting and decide whether about 400-nit HDR is sufficient.
  3. Count your peripherals and confirm that the display’s lack of a USB hub will not create a problem.
  4. Check that your graphics card and cable setup can drive 2560×1440 at your target refresh rate.
  5. Read the regional Dell warranty language, including its burn-in coverage, before completing the order.

The Bottom Line

The AW2726DM is the sensible value choice for 1440p gamers who want QD-OLED contrast and 240Hz speed for about $350. Pay more for the AW2725D if brighter HDR and a USB hub are worth it, or for the AW2725DF if 360Hz competitive play is the deciding factor.
