The score is useful context, but the detailed breakdown is available only to CHOICE members.
What the review says about cooking performance
CHOICE’s test summary describes mixed, food-specific results rather than a consistently strong performance across every dish:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Good results: roast pork, marinated chicken wings and frozen straight-cut chips.
- Disappointing result: crumbed chicken.
- Steam function: broccoli cooked successfully.
These are results reported by CHOICE, not independent hands-on testing for this article. CHOICE does not make its detailed score breakdown available publicly, so the 72% overall rating should not be treated as a score for any particular food, feature or usability measure. CHOICE’s review lists the model and its overall rating; its test summary describes the food results.

CHOICE’s review page lists a price of $129, but does not state the year for that figure. It is a historical price shown on the review, not a current offer. The page also does not establish the exact item number or model code. Check the appliance label or original packaging before seeking model-specific support or ordering parts.

CHOICE labels this Ambiano model discontinued. That means the review should not be read as evidence that Aldi currently sells it, and current marketplace or resale stock has not been verified. The three-year warranty is the term CHOICE lists for the reviewed product; current support terms have not been checked.

What the public review does not establish
- Detailed scores: CHOICE restricts the full result breakdown to members, so individual cooking or usability scores cannot be confirmed from the accessible page.
- Usable capacity: the listed 7 L is the claimed capacity; the accessible information does not say how much food can be cooked in practice.
- Cleaning performance: no public cleaning result is established in the cited information.
- Replacement parts: compatible baskets, trays and other parts are not identified.
For a second-hand unit, verify the model code and condition directly with the seller. Do not assume that a part advertised for another Ambiano air fryer will fit this one.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

CHOICE’s 72% rating and food-specific summary suggest a potentially useful appliance for some roast foods, chips and steaming, but a weaker result for crumbed chicken. Because the model is discontinued and its detailed scores are members-only, the public evidence is not enough to judge its full performance or recommend it as a current Aldi purchase. If considering a used unit, confirm its identity, condition and support options before buying.
