What “diamonds” means in AION 2
The word diamonds is not precise enough to identify one AION 2 item. Current information supports two separate subjects: a material called Diamond Gemstone and a premium currency called Quna. Treating them as the same thing can lead you to the wrong map, the wrong menu, or an unsafe currency seller.

Diamond Gemstone is a gathered material
The community AION 2 Atlas map identifies Diamond Gemstone as one of three gem nodes collected through Essence Extraction. The map lists four grades: Diamond Gemstone, Fine Diamond Gemstone, Pure Diamond Gemstone, and Radiant Diamond Gemstone. Its descriptions say gems are used in accessories, high-tier potions, and soulstones. Those use descriptions come from the map publisher rather than an official crafting database, so use them as practical guidance rather than as a complete recipe reference.

Quna is the premium currency
Official AION 2 Global Support calls the premium currency Quna. In its September 15, 2026 billing FAQ, support says: “No, NCoin cannot be used to purchase Quna or other premium offerings in Aion 2. Players can purchase Quna within Aion 2 to make premium purchases within the game.” Read the full clarification at AION 2 Global Support.

That wording does not call Quna “diamonds.” If you are looking for a premium purchase, search the in-game Quna interface and current official billing instructions. If you are looking for a resource to gather, use Diamond Gemstone and Essence Extraction terminology instead.

What Diamond Gemstone is used for
The AION 2 Atlas entry connects the gem family to three broad crafting outcomes:
- Accessories: gemstone materials are listed as inputs for accessory production.
- High-tier potions: the map identifies gems as materials associated with advanced potion crafting.
- Soulstones: gems are also listed among materials used for soulstones.
The available evidence does not provide a complete recipe list, quantities per craft, NPC requirements, level gates, or a current item-by-item eligibility list. Do not assume every grade is accepted by every recipe. Check the recipe or crafting screen for the exact grade and quantity before you commit a farming route.

Where to farm Diamond Gemstone
The most detailed location reference currently available is the community AION 2 Atlas Diamond Locations map. Its data was retrieved October 12, 2026, and its October 2026 global view reports 356 mapped Diamond Gemstone veins: 156 in Verteron and 200 in Altgard.
Those are mapped pins, not guaranteed harvests. The map explicitly warns that pins are not verified in-game. It also says veins are shared and respawn later, so another player may have gathered a node before you arrive. A visible pin therefore means “investigate this location,” not “a gem will definitely be waiting.”

Altgard has the larger reported total, 200 versus Verteron’s 156. Its two largest named areas also have more mapped pins than Verteron’s listed locations: Steel Hammer Workcamp has 49 and Neglected Crematorium has 48, compared with Verteron’s highest listed area, Drana Transport Hub, at 25. That comparison describes map density only. No source supplies a verified yield-per-hour result, route time, or proof that Altgard produces more usable gemstones during an actual session.

How to turn the map into a practical route
- Choose a zone based on your travel situation. Start with Altgard if you want to inspect the area with the largest reported map concentration, or Verteron if its travel points are closer to your character and objectives. The counts alone do not establish hourly profit.
- Open the map and select a compact cluster. Prioritize the named areas with the highest reported counts rather than zig-zagging across an entire region. A cluster reduces wasted travel if several pins are empty.
- Travel to each pin and use the game’s Essence Extraction interaction. The cited material identifies the gathering method but does not document a universal keyboard shortcut, menu path, tool requirement, or level threshold. Follow the interaction prompt shown by your current client.
- Record what was actually available. Note which pins were occupied, which grade appeared, and how long the loop took. This gives you a personal route sample instead of treating the map’s 356 pins as guaranteed inventory.
- Leave empty nodes and continue the loop. Because veins are shared, an empty location may simply have been harvested by another player. Do not repeatedly wait at one pin unless you have confirmed a respawn pattern on your server.
- Recheck the destination later. The map says nodes respawn, but the available source does not state a respawn interval. Return after a separate activity or a later play session rather than promising yourself a fixed timer.
Essence Extraction and the four listed grades
Essence Extraction is the gathering category associated with Diamond Gemstone on the community map. The map presents a progression of names—Diamond, Fine, Pure, and Radiant—but does not establish that the grades are tied to specific zones, character levels, extraction tools, or guaranteed node tiers.
When you gather, inspect the item name in your inventory rather than assuming a node will produce the grade you want. If a recipe requires Fine, Pure, or Radiant material, confirm the exact requirement in the current crafting interface. The cited sources do not provide recipe quantities or a verified rule that lower grades can be converted into higher grades.
Is Altgard the best diamond farm?
There is no evidence here for a definitive “best” farm measured by profit or gems per hour. Altgard is the stronger starting point if your only criterion is the number of pins on the October 2026 map: 200 mapped veins compared with Verteron’s 156. The map’s largest named concentrations are also in Altgard. However, a high pin count can be offset by long travel distances, contested spawns, missing pins, or a character who reaches Verteron more efficiently.
Use this decision framework:
- Choose Altgard when you want to test the denser reported clusters at Steel Hammer Workcamp, Neglected Crematorium, or Victorious Daeva’s Statue.
- Choose Verteron when its areas fit your current progression, transport options, or a shorter repeatable loop.
- Change routes if your notes show too many empty nodes or excessive travel between pins.
- Do not call a route more profitable without recording actual time, successful extractions, item grades, and any legitimate sale proceeds on your server.
The source does not establish whether Diamond Gemstone and sapphire nodes spawn together. Do not assume shared spawns, shared routes, or identical respawn behavior unless the current game client or an official item reference confirms it.

NCSOFT’s August 12, 2025 announcement, which covered an official livestream, describes the trade system as using in-game currency rather than premium currency. Producer Namjoon Kim said: “The Trade system enables players to exchange items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. After careful consideration, we designed this system to offer the most enjoyable experience for players.” The announcement is available at NCSOFT’s AION 2 update article.

This establishes the intended distinction between an item-trade economy and premium purchases. It does not establish that every Diamond Gemstone grade can currently be listed, whether a particular server has a market, what fees apply, what minimum or maximum quantities are allowed, or whether the trade interface has changed since the announcement.

What to verify before listing a gemstone
- Open the current in-game trade or market interface and search the exact item name, including its grade.
- Check whether the item is marked tradable, bind-on-pickup, or otherwise restricted.
- Read the displayed currency, listing fee, transaction fee, and settlement rules before confirming.
- Compare the listed price with your own farming time; the available sources provide no verified market price.
- Confirm the final received amount after any in-game fee rather than treating the displayed sale price as net earnings.
If the item does not appear in the trade interface, do not infer that the map is wrong. It may be an untradable grade, a regional restriction, a temporary market rule, or a system change that the cited announcement does not cover.
Real-money trading is not a safe farming method
The current AION 2 Global Operation Policy defines real-money trading (RMT) broadly. It includes exchanging game items, including in-game currency, for real money or outside goods and services, as well as trading items for items from other games.
That means buying or selling Diamond Gemstone, Quna, or in-game currency through an outside seller is not the same as using the game’s own trade system. Do not direct other players to currency sellers, account deals, item-for-cash arrangements, or cross-game swaps. Such transactions can expose an account to enforcement, fraud, payment disputes, stolen accounts, or loss of the purchased items. Keep gemstone trading inside the systems and rules provided by AION 2.
A farming checklist that avoids unsupported assumptions
- Confirm that you mean Diamond Gemstone, not Quna.
- Use the community map as a lead list, not as a guarantee of 356 harvestable nodes.
- Start with a compact Altgard or Verteron cluster instead of attempting every pin.
- Use Essence Extraction and record the grade you actually receive.
- Expect shared nodes and an unspecified respawn interval.
- Check the live crafting screen for recipe quantities and grade requirements.
- Check the live trade interface for tradability and fees; neither is established by the cited sources.
- Measure your own route time before claiming a “best” farm.
- Keep all transactions within the game and follow the operation policy.
What is still unknown
Several questions players commonly ask cannot be answered accurately from the available documentation. There is no verified statistic for Diamond Gemstone yield per node, no published respawn interval, no independently verified market price, and no timed comparison proving one zone earns more per hour. Exact recipe quantities, level requirements, extraction-tool requirements, and the current trade eligibility of each grade are also not established.
Those gaps matter because a map count is not an economy guide. A route with 49 pins can be slower than one with 17 if the locations are spread out or heavily contested. Likewise, a high-grade gemstone may be valuable for a recipe without being legally or technically listable on the current market. Treat each of these as a question for the live client, current official notices, or your own measured play session rather than as a fixed fact.
Bottom line for AION 2 diamond farming
For the material commonly called a diamond, farm Diamond Gemstone through Essence Extraction. The October 2026 AION 2 Atlas map reports 356 pins—200 in Altgard and 156 in Verteron—with the densest named clusters in Altgard, but it warns that its pins are unverified, shared, and subject to respawn. Use those locations to build and measure a route, not to promise a yield. For premium purchases, use Quna inside AION 2; it is a separate currency. The announced trade design uses in-game currency, while outside real-money exchanges violate the published operation policy.
